What PTET 2025 was for
Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota conducted the Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET) 2025 for admission to teacher-education colleges in Rajasthan for the 2025–26 session. It was an entrance test for two course routes—not a general teacher-recruitment examination. The official brochure set out the rules for the two-year B.Ed. and four-year integrated B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. courses (PTET 2025 portal).
PTET 2025 dates and application fee
The VMOU brochure listed the original online application period as March 5 to April 7, 2025, and an application fee of ₹500. Scroll’s March 5, 2025 report also gave April 7 as the initial deadline and June 15, 2025 as the scheduled exam date (Scroll, March 5, 2025). Careers360 subsequently reported that the application deadline was extended to April 17, 2025; that later date was reported by the outlet and was not independently corroborated by an official notice here (Careers360, April 8, 2025). These are historical dates, not a timetable for a new cycle.
The ₹500 amount was the application fee, not a counselling or admission payment. Candidates applying for both four-year integrated courses were charged ₹1,000 according to the brochure. Fees and payment schedules for a later cycle should be taken from its own notice.

These are summaries of the 2025 brochure, not a substitute for checking its full eligibility rules. For example, the brochure excluded graduates who completed their degree in a single sitting. It also allowed candidates appearing in the qualifying final examination to apply, provided they had their results and the required marks by the online counselling-registration deadline. The corresponding condition for the integrated route applied to candidates awaiting senior-secondary results.
How the 2025 application worked
Archived application guidance described an online process. It should not be treated as the process for a later cycle unless that cycle’s official notice confirms it.
- Choose the link for the two-year B.Ed. route or the four-year integrated route.
- Complete the online form with the requested details.
- Upload the required documents.
- Pay the applicable application fee and submit the form.
- Save the registration and application details for reference.
The 2025 portal should not be assumed to host an open form now. Check the latest official PTET/VMOU notice for the current cycle’s application link, dates, eligibility and fee.
What happened after the entrance test
The brochure says PTET merit was used to prepare a merit list, followed by online counselling and college allotment. Allotment could depend on merit, faculty, category, teaching subjects and the candidate’s college choices, under the applicable rules.

Candidates had to participate in counselling and follow the allotment and reporting requirements. The brochure warned that not taking part in online counselling or refusing an allotted college could cost a candidate their merit position and admission opportunity. It listed a ₹5,000 counselling-registration amount, adjusted against the overall fee, and described conditional deductions if a candidate paid but then failed to report or join. That amount is separate from the application fee; it is not a basis for estimating a later cycle’s total admission cost.

The official portal did not return readable page text when checked for this article, so its current operation and any 2026 application status are unconfirmed. Do not rely on an old “apply now” headline, archived form instructions or a third-party date report as proof that registration is open. Use the latest notice published by PTET/VMOU and confirm the cycle year before submitting details or payment.
