The company later entered Chapter 11, and a new company, Rad Life Mobility, acquired Rad Power’s assets through a bankruptcy sale on February 27, 2026. Rad Life says it operates a business selling and supporting products under the Rad Power brand, but the sale does not by itself establish what any particular customer is owed or can claim.
What the January shutdown warning meant
In November 2025, Electrek reported that a Washington WARN notice covered 64 remaining Rad Power Bikes headquarters positions. The report said the company described the notice as precautionary, with no final decision to close, while leadership pursued options to keep operating. This was a warning about a possible outcome—not confirmation that a January shutdown had already been decided. Electrek’s November 10, 2025 report attributed the company’s position this way: “No final decisions have been made, and these notices are precautionary. Rad’s leadership is actively pursuing all viable options to keep the company operating.”
How Rad Power’s assets changed hands
Auction and proposed bid
TechCrunch reported that five entities participated in an auction on January 22, 2026, and that Life Electric Vehicles Holdings won with a $13.2 million bid plus liabilities, for a reported total bid value of $14.9 million. When TechCrunch published on January 26, court approval was still pending, so that report alone did not establish a completed sale. TechCrunch’s auction report also quoted Life EV CEO Robert Provost describing an “exciting future” for Rad Power; that was a statement made while the sale process was underway, not evidence of later results.
Completed acquisition
Rad Life Mobility’s audited financial-statement notes later identify February 27, 2026 as the date it acquired Rad Power Bikes’ assets through a Section 363 bankruptcy sale. The filing describes the acquired assets as primarily the Rad Power brand, intellectual property, inventory, and certain operating assets. It says Rad Life assumed gift-card and certain warranty liabilities, not that it took on every former obligation. Rad Life’s SEC-filed business description says it markets, sells, and supports electric bicycles, accessories, replacement parts, and apparel under the Rad Power brand.

Did the Rad Power business continue?
The filing supports a limited answer: Rad Life describes an ongoing business using the Rad Power brand and selling and supporting e-bikes and related products. That is different from saying the former company continued unchanged. The assets were acquired through bankruptcy by a new entity, and the filing’s description does not confirm current stock, repair capacity, customer-service procedures, or the handling of an individual warranty or gift card.
For a customer, the practical distinction is between the brand and a specific obligation. The acquisition confirms that certain gift-card and warranty liabilities were assumed; it does not establish whether a particular purchase, warranty claim, gift card, repair, or replacement part qualifies. Current eligibility and procedures require confirmation directly from Rad Power or Rad Life.

What Rad Life’s reported financial results show
Rad Life Mobility’s audited statements report results from its inception on February 19, 2026 through June 30, 2026. The auditor’s report is dated August 10, 2026. These are historical figures for the new company, not a forecast or a statement of its finances after the reporting period.

The figures show that Rad Life recorded revenue during that period and also a net loss. They do not establish whether the company is currently solvent or how long it can continue operating. The SEC-filed audited statements are the relevant source for the period and figures.

What remains unconfirmed for customers
The asset sale and business description do not answer several practical questions that matter to existing owners:
- Whether a particular warranty claim is covered under the liabilities Rad Life assumed.
- How or whether outstanding gift cards can be redeemed.
- Which Rad Power models, replacement parts, or accessories are currently available, and whether a part fits a specific bike.
- What support channels and repair arrangements are currently operating.
For any purchase or repair decision, check current product and support information with the company and verify compatibility for the exact bike model. The available filings and reports do not establish present inventory, service eligibility, or the safety status of a particular replacement battery.
