Rackspace Technology’s March 2025 partner-program relaunch put joint selling and recurring partner revenue at its center. CRN reported that Rackspace introduced an Account Ownership Program: when a partner brings an opportunity and the companies win it together, the resulting account is jointly owned. Rackspace describes performance tiers and commissions that can grow over time, but has not publicly specified commission rates in the cited report.
What changed in Rackspace’s partner program?
In March 2025, Rackspace announced a relaunch framed as “Win More. Earn More. Accelerate Your Growth.” The stated shift was toward closer collaboration on sales and a longer-lived economic relationship with partners that help win customer business. CRN’s coverage of the relaunch describes the Account Ownership Program as its central initiative. CRN’s report on the relaunch quoted Rackspace vice president of partnerships and demand generation Adrianna Bustamante saying, “Technology is constantly evolving, and our partner program needed to evolve with it.”
Account ownership and recurring commissions
Under the mechanics CRN reported, a partner that brings Rackspace an opportunity shares ownership of the account if the two companies close the deal together. Rackspace senior director of the global partner program Judy Vansell told CRN: “If a partner brings us an opportunity, we don’t just support it, we share the account ownership. Once we win it together, it becomes their account, jointly owned with Rackspace. That’s a huge differentiator.” This describes the relaunch as reported; the quote is not a substitute for the applicable written partner agreement or lead-registration terms.
CRN also reported that the program uses performance tiers and a recurring-commission model intended to give partners a continuing stake and a clearer picture of how earnings may grow. Bustamante told CRN: “It’s all about a better recurring commission model. Even though we don’t talk specific numbers publicly, partners know what they earn on each opportunity and how that grows over time.” The report did not disclose commission percentages or dollar amounts, so partners should not assume a particular rate from the public announcement.

Enablement and access
CRN reported that the relaunch added marketing campaigns-in-a-box, technical resources and educational assets. Rackspace also presented the program as accessible to smaller partners, with sales and technical expertise available regardless of partner size. That is the company’s stated approach, not evidence that partners of every size receive identical support or results.
What Rackspace currently lists for partners
Rackspace’s current Global Partner Program page describes expertise and support across public, private and hybrid cloud platforms. Listed resources include dedicated partner account managers, a partner help desk, inside sales, technical support, enablement materials, and a portal for lead registration and tracking. The page says commissions may apply to eligible opportunities submitted and approved under its lead-registration guidelines.

The same page says qualified opportunities have no minimum or maximum payout terms, but it does not publish a commission rate. The public page is localized for the UAE (en-ae); its listed benefits and terms should not be assumed to apply identically in every market. For eligibility, rates, payout conditions and account-ownership rights, confirm the current terms directly with Rackspace.
Which Rackspace partner route might fit?
Rackspace’s current program page lists four routes. It does not provide enough public compensation detail to compare them by earnings, so the practical distinction is the kind of contribution a partner makes.

The company names a broad technology ecosystem, including AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, VMware, Oracle, SAP, Dell Technologies, Cloudflare, and others. These relationships provide context for the range of potential customer work; they do not establish that every named company participates in the same commercial tier or offers identical joint-selling terms.
