Qatar recorded QR482.4 million in property sales across 118 transactions from September 27 to October 3, 2026, while mortgage contracts were valued at approximately QR1.04 billion across 27 deals. The figures, reported by Zawya on October 5 and attributed to weekly indicators published by Aqarat, describe different kinds of activity: mortgage value is not sales value and does not count homes sold.
How much were Qatar property sales that week?
Sales totaled QR482.4 million across 118 transactions. Zawya reported that sales value was down 20% from the same week a year earlier and down 30.9% from the preceding week. Transaction counts also declined: down 21.9% year on year and 15.1% week on week.
These are comparisons for one reporting week. They show what happened in that period, but do not establish a lasting direction for Qatar’s property market.
How did sales vary by property type?
Villas and land accounted for most of the reported sales value. The figures below are from Zawya’s October 5 report for September 27–October 3, 2026.
#1 Best Overall
| Property type | Reported sales value | Share of sales |
|---|---|---|
| Villas | QR224.7 million | 46.5% |
| Land | QR197.7 million | 40.9% |
| Buildings | QR29.8 million | Not stated |
| Other property types | QR30.2 million | Not stated |
Which municipalities led property sales?
Al Rayyan had the highest reported sales value, followed by Doha and Al Wakra.
| Municipality | Reported sales value |
|---|---|
| Al Rayyan | QR130.9 million |
| Doha | QR116.7 million |
| Al Wakra | QR99.7 million |
Why was mortgage activity higher than sales?
The two totals measure separate registered activities, so they are not directly comparable as measures of homes changing hands. For the same week, mortgage contracts reached approximately QR1.04 billion across 27 contracts. That value was up 198.4% year on year but down 53.8% week on week; the contract count was up 22.7% year on year and down 12.9% week on week. A large mortgage total alongside lower sales does not, by itself, explain why either indicator moved.

The Ministry of Justice says its Real Estate Registration Department publishes weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual bulletins, and identifies those bulletins as the official sources for real-estate trading movement and indicator analysis. Zawya attributed the exact-week figures here to Aqarat’s weekly indicators; an exact-week Ministry of Justice bulletin for September 27–October 3 was not independently located. The detailed figures should therefore be understood as reported by Zawya, rather than presented as independently verified against that specific primary bulletin.
Other official figures offer context, but use different periods and should not be treated as direct weekly comparisons. The Ministry of Justice reported QR1,290,916,518 in sales-contract volume across 424 transactions for August 2026. Separately, Aqarat said Ministry of Justice data put first-half 2026 transaction value at QR10.69 billion, up 5.84% from approximately QR10.1 billion in the first half of 2025.
