The interview identified her as the company’s president at that time; it does not establish her current title.
Who is Susanne Kinzenbaw Veatch?
Natalina Sents Bausch’s February 14, 2020 interview for Successful Farming described Veatch as president of Kinze Manufacturing, headquartered in Williamsburg, Iowa. It said she is the daughter of founder Jon Kinzenbaw, earned a business degree at Iowa State University, worked as a systems analyst at Caterpillar, and joined Kinze in 2005. These are details published in 2020, not a current biography or confirmation of her present role.
How did she describe her role at Kinze?
Veatch characterized her job as overseeing the company’s day-to-day work with an executive team. She also said she worked closely with sales and marketing to stay connected to customer needs. She took part in product development, while clarifying that she was not the product designer.
Her account places listening to customers alongside teamwork: product development, as she described it, depends on understanding what farmers need and bringing together colleagues whose skills complement one another.

How did farming shape her perspective on equipment?
In the interview, Veatch said that she and her husband farmed “several hundred acres.” She connected that experience with understanding how equipment operates in the field and the frustration a breakdown causes when machinery does not work as expected. The acreage is her statement in 2020, not a current figure.
What advice did she offer women interested in agricultural machinery?
Asked what she would tell young women interested in machinery, Veatch emphasized showing respect, asking genuine questions, and listening. She said that approaching people this way can open the door to sharing ideas and learning from others. In response to a separate question about the best advice she had received, her answer was simply: “Listen.”

What does Kinze Manufacturing make?
Kinze’s official website, accessed October 8, 2026, lists planters, grain carts, and tillage equipment. It also provides links to product manuals, parts lookup, dealer search, planter product guides, retrofit kits, firmware, and a company store. Those listings describe the company’s current site at the date checked; they do not confirm Veatch’s current position.

A 2016 Successful Farming profile reported that Jon Kinzenbaw became CEO and chairman while Susanne (also called “Susie” in that article) Kinzenbaw Veatch became president and chief marketing officer. It also named Brian McKown executive vice president and COO. That is a historical leadership announcement, not a current roster.

The same article recounts Jon Kinzenbaw’s account of the company’s development: he said Kinze began as a welding and repair shop in 1965, that he developed a two-wheeled grain cart in the early 1970s, and that the company introduced its Twin-Line planter in 1985, later renamed the 3600. These are statements attributed to him in the profile, rather than independently established claims about industry firsts.
A February 25, 2020 Successful Farming report offers another historical example of product collaboration: Kinze and SureFire Ag planned factory installation of SureFire liquid fertilizer systems on Kinze planters beginning with the 2021 planting season. The report said the companies would work through Kinze dealers and keep the planter and fertilizer-system warranties separate. It describes the plan at that time, not present availability or terms.
