PSEB declared the Punjab Board Class 12 result on Friday, 30 July 2021, according to contemporaneous coverage by The Times of India and The Tribune. What was the pass rate?
The reported overall pass rate was 96.48%. The Times of India reported that 292,663 students appeared and 282,349 passed. Those figures refer to students who appeared and passed, not the number registered.
Where and how could students check the result?
Contemporaneous reports identified pseb.ac.in as the official PSEB website and directed candidates to check through the result page using their roll number or candidate login details. Online access was reported for 31 July, the day after the 30 July declaration.

How did results differ by gender and district?
The Times of India reported a 97.34% pass rate for girls and 95.74% for boys. The Tribune reported these district pass rates among the leaders:
| District | Reported pass rate | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Ropar | 99.57% | The Tribune |
| Patiala | 99.08% | The Tribune |
| Muktsar | 99.06% | The Tribune |
How were the 2021 marks assessed?
The Times of India described a 30:30:40 evaluation formula for the 2021 result:
- 30%: Class 10 theory marks in the student’s three best-performing subjects.
- 30%: Class 11 pre-board and practical marks.
- 40%: Class 12 pre-board, practical and internal-assessment marks.
This breakdown is attributed to the Times of India’s report; it should not be treated as a separately verified PSEB notice.

What official records are available?
The PSEB Examination Branch archive lists an item titled “Subject Wise Pass Percentage Class 12th March 2021,” dated 4 April 2022. The accessible archive listing confirms the document’s existence but does not display its subject-level figures, so those percentages should be taken from the underlying document rather than inferred from its title. PSEB identifies its location as Vidya Bhawan, Phase-8, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, India.
The Ministry of Education’s 2021 higher-secondary examination statistics dataset includes PSEB, but no additional board-specific values are established here from that dataset. Contemporaneous news reports provide the pass-rate figures above; they are not figures independently transcribed from an original PSEB result notice. A complete official topper list and verified individual marks are not established by these sources.
