Punjab’s Chief Minister IT Internship Program (CMITIP) is reported to have opened registration for a new cycle, offering selected interns Rs. 50,000 per month for a reported four-month term. What the Rs. 50,000 internship offers
The latest-cycle details were reported by ProPakistani on October 5, 2026. The program is described as part of the Punjab government’s Work for Punjab initiative, with support from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The reported stipend is Rs. 50,000 per month, for four months in this cycle—not a single Rs. 50,000 payment for the entire internship. The reported four-month term is cohort-specific; an earlier Batch 2 notice gave a different duration.
The stipend is not described as unconditional. Current-cycle reporting says payment depends on attendance and performance. The report also says applicants must complete an internationally recognized certification and submit its result to receive the final month’s stipend and completion certificate. It does not name a certifying body or exam, so check the portal for applicable certification details before committing to a course or exam.
Who is reported to be eligible
According to the October 5 report, applicants must meet these conditions:
- Have at least 16 years of education in IT, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Have graduated within the previous four years.
- Be unemployed when applying; final-year students are excluded.
- Have a valid CNIC and Punjab domicile.
- Have a degree verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
These are reported criteria, not a substitute for the current official rules. The portal should be treated as the source for accepted disciplines, document requirements, and how the graduation window is calculated.

The current-cycle report describes a minimum attendance threshold of 70% and this assessment split:

ProPakistani’s October 5 headline refers to 2,000 internships, but the reviewed article text does not state a seat count in its body. The current total is therefore not established by the available reporting.

What applicants should verify before committing
- Whether registration is currently open and the official closing date.
- Whether your degree discipline and graduation date meet the live eligibility rules.
- Which documents and HEC verification steps are required.
- The current cohort’s term, placement details, and any confirmed seat count.
- The applicable attendance, leave, stipend assessment, and certification rules.
