Some Public Mobile customers were offered a move to TELUS for 100GB at $45 a month, but it was a targeted promotion—not a public TELUS plan available to everyone. MobileSyrup reported the offer on February 19, 2026, based on customer-shared evidence. The price reportedly included a $10 pre-authorized-payment discount. Whether a particular code still works, and what the TELUS plan includes, must be confirmed in that customer’s offer and checkout. This is also separate from Public Mobile’s own publicly listed $45/100GB plan.
What the reported TELUS offer includes
According to MobileSyrup’s February 19, 2026 report, select Public Mobile customers received a text offering 100GB for $45 per month if they switched to TELUS. The report said the message included a promotional code and described the offer as having no long-term commitment. It also said the $45 price included a $10 pre-authorized-payment discount.
The available public evidence does not establish that this was a standard TELUS plan, that every Public Mobile customer could claim it, or that every recipient still has an active code. Treat it as a personal migration offer: the written terms tied to the recipient’s code and the price shown at checkout matter more than the headline.
Who qualifies—and what remains unverified
The reporting describes the offer as sent to select Public Mobile customers. It does not establish a general eligibility formula. Unless the recipient’s message or official offer terms say otherwise, these details remain unverified:
#1 Best Overall
- Includes two US Mobile SIM cards, one for the Warp Network and one for the Dark Star Network.
- Easy activation. Get started in minutes and manage your lines any time!
- 5G plans starting from $4/month
- Unlimited Premium plan with up to 10 GB International Data
- 24/7–365 world-class customer support. Get help from a real person within seconds
- Whether eligibility depends on province, plan type, account tenure or time as a customer.
- Whether the offer is BYOD-only, limited to one line, or transferable to another person.
- Whether the code has expired or is tied to a specific account or phone number.
- Whether there are porting, credit-check or other activation requirements.
If you did not receive an offer, the report is not evidence that TELUS or Public Mobile will issue you the same code on request.
What switching to TELUS changes
This appears to be a move from Public Mobile’s service to TELUS-branded postpaid mobility, not an upgrade within Public Mobile. TELUS’s BYOD guidance describes using an existing phone with a postpaid plan and transferring a Canadian number. Postpaid service means a monthly bill and may involve account or credit checks. Account management, customer support, device options, roaming and plan rules can also differ from what you have at Public Mobile.

Do not assume the migration offer includes TELUS features such as device financing, TELUS Rewards or a five-year rate-plan price lock. TELUS describes a price lock for eligible postpaid plans, but eligibility and exclusions apply; it does not freeze taxes, government fees, discounts, promotions, add-ons or pay-per-use charges. Check the TELUS plan terms and ask whether the specific promotional plan qualifies.
Confirm the real monthly cost and coverage
Is $45 the amount you will pay?
The reported $45 monthly figure included a $10 pre-authorized-payment discount. That is a plan price, not necessarily the final amount charged to your payment method. Taxes and applicable charges may be extra, and optional add-ons, device payments, roaming use or one-time activation charges can raise a bill. Check the offer terms and TELUS mobility pricing for any fees or conditions, including what happens if pre-authorized payments are removed.

Where can you use the data?
The reporting did not establish whether the targeted TELUS plan covers Canada only, Canada and the U.S., or Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Do not infer its coverage from Public Mobile’s separate plan. Before accepting, check the exact plan name and terms for roaming geography, high-speed data available while roaming, what happens when that allowance is used, and whether international calling is included.

Check the offer before transferring your number
- Save the original message. Keep the text or account notification, code, date and any linked terms.
- Check the link and code. Use an official
telus.comorpublicmobile.caactivation path. Confirm that the code is valid for your account and has not expired. - Read the plan details. Verify geography, data rules, international calling, BYOD requirements, payment-discount conditions, fees and any credit or identity checks.
- Ask about features and reversibility. Confirm whether the plan qualifies for Rewards or the price lock, and whether your current Public Mobile plan can be recovered if you later return. Do not assume it can.
- Save the checkout summary. Before submitting, capture the $45 price, 100GB allowance, discounts, fees and plan name shown on screen. If checkout differs from the message, pause and get the terms clarified in writing.
- Keep Public Mobile active during the number transfer. Do not cancel it yourself before the port completes. A failed transfer can interrupt service or leave you with the wrong number.
- Check the first TELUS bill. Compare it with the saved offer and checkout confirmation. If the discount is missing, contact TELUS with those records and request a correction before changing plans again.
When switching makes financial sense
The TELUS offer may suit you if
- You want postpaid TELUS service and have a valid code whose checkout terms confirm the price.
- You have a compatible phone, or have confirmed that the offer works with the device arrangement you want.
- The confirmed coverage and calling inclusions meet your needs, and you value TELUS’s account or device options enough to leave Public Mobile.
Staying with Public Mobile may be better if
- Your current plan is cheaper or grandfathered, and you cannot confirm that you could get it back after leaving.
- You rely on Canada-U.S.-Mexico use or Public Points, which are stated features of Public Mobile’s public $45 plan but not established for the TELUS offer.
- You prefer Public Mobile’s app-first, subscription-style service, or do not want postpaid billing or a possible credit check.
Pause if the terms do not match your needs
- You have no official code, the checkout price is higher than expected, or the required pre-authorized-payment discount does not appear.
- You need U.S. or Mexico service, international calling or a new phone, but the offer does not explicitly include it.
- You are considering the switch only because of the 100GB headline and use far less data, or you would be giving up a valuable old rate.
If the code or switch goes wrong
- Code rejected: Check the expiry, account identity, province and any porting conditions against the written terms. Save the error and ask TELUS to clarify in writing; do not rely on a verbal promise that the advertised price will appear later.
- Bill is higher than expected: Compare it with the checkout summary and offer terms, separating the plan price from taxes, fees, add-ons and device charges. Ask TELUS to explain any missing discount or unexpected charge.
- Number transfer fails: Keep the Public Mobile account active while the issue is resolved and contact the carrier handling the port. Do not cancel the old service until the number works on TELUS.
- You want to return: Public Mobile has not been shown to guarantee restoration of a previous or grandfathered plan. Get confirmation before switching if that possibility matters to you.
