Google Opinion Rewards credit on Android expires one year after each credit is earned. A new survey does not reset the deadline for older rewards, so check the expiration notice beneath your balance in the Opinion Rewards app before letting credit sit unused.
How the one-year expiration works
Google says each Opinion Rewards credit expires one year from the date it was earned. That means a balance can contain awards with different deadlines; it does not have one shared expiration date that moves forward when you complete another survey. For example, a hypothetical $0.50 credit earned on August 20, 2025 would be due to expire around August 20, 2026. A separate $0.75 credit earned on November 3, 2025 would have its own deadline around November 3, 2026. A survey completed in August 2026 would not, based on Google’s stated rule, extend the November credit’s deadline. Use the expiration date shown in your app; Google does not specify a universal expiration hour or time zone.

- Open the Google Opinion Rewards app on the account where you earn rewards.
- Look just below the displayed Google Play credit balance for the notice about the oldest credits due to expire.
- Use the date shown there to decide whether to spend eligible credit before it expires. Labels and layout can vary by app version, country, or account.
The notice concerns the oldest expiring credits, not necessarily the entire balance. Your lifetime rewards earned, current unspent balance, previously spent credits, and expired credits are different amounts.

What expires—and what does not automatically follow the same rule
The one-year rule applies to Google Play credit awarded through Opinion Rewards on Android. Do not assume that every amount shown as Google Play balance has the same source or expiration terms. If your balance fell, identify the transaction and type of credit before concluding that Opinion Rewards expiration caused it. Opinion Rewards works differently on iOS: Google says iOS rewards are paid through PayPal, while Android rewards are Google Play credit. The reward histories are separate, and rewards do not transfer between the platforms. Google Opinion Rewards overview

What to do if your balance is lower than expected
- Check the Opinion Rewards app. Look for an expiration notice for older credits.
- Review Google Payments transaction history. Compare the balance reduction with credits issued, purchases, and any expiration-related entries.
- Check the account. Make sure Opinion Rewards, Google Play, and the Google Payments profile are using the same Google login. A different account can make a valid balance appear to be missing. Google Opinion Rewards Help
- Separate an expired balance from a missing survey payment. Google says a reward can take a few days to appear. If the app showed that a survey was completed for credit and it still has not appeared after seven days, use the app’s feedback option to report it. Google Opinion Rewards: Earn rewards
Expiration is one possible explanation for a reduction, not proof of what happened. Contact Google support if the transaction history does not explain it—for example, if credit less than a year old disappeared before the app’s displayed date or a promised survey credit never arrived.
Spend eligible credit thoughtfully
Google directs users to the applicable Google Play gift-card terms for details about eligible uses. Treat Opinion Rewards credit as usable only for purchases that accept it in your country, account, and purchase flow; do not assume it will cover every subscription, product, or transaction. If you want to use the credit, check the amount and payment method presented at checkout before confirming a purchase. The point is to avoid losing credit you already intended to use—not to buy something unnecessary just to beat an expiration date. Letting a small amount expire may be better than making an unwanted purchase.

Google says Opinion Rewards credits cannot be transferred to another Google account, and Android Play credit does not transfer to an iOS PayPal reward history. Google Play policy also treats promotional balance as non-refundable and non-transferable; specific rules can vary by country and legal requirements.
