The August 16–22, 2021 PS5 restock outlook was a forecast, not a confirmed retailer schedule. A Tech Times article published August 15, 2021, citing GamingIntel, said online stock might appear at seven retailers during the following week but gave no confirmed drop dates or times. The article does not establish which drops occurred or indicate current availability.
What the August 2021 PS5 restock forecast said
Tech Times reported that PS5 stock was expected at online retailers sometime between August 16 and August 22, 2021. It attributed that expectation to GamingIntel, but described the retailer drops as rumored. Readers therefore had no confirmed date or time for any particular store in the article.
The seven possible destinations named were:
- GameStop
- Walmart
- Target
- Best Buy
- PlayStation Direct
- Antonline
- Amazon
These names were leads to monitor, not confirmations that stock would be available at each retailer.
What the Walmart timing detail meant
The article described an earlier Walmart restock that lasted about an hour, with units released in batches every ten minutes. It said a similar batch approach had previously been observed for Xbox Series X and noted that releases for the two consoles were often similar. This was a description of an earlier pattern, not a confirmed Walmart schedule for August 16–22.

The article suggested following PS5 restock tracker accounts and enabling notifications, as well as preparing accounts with the retailers. These were practical suggestions for reacting quickly if new online stock appeared; they did not guarantee a purchase.
What is and is not known now
The forecast covered August 16–22, 2021, and was published the day before that period began. The Tech Times article does not verify whether any of the rumored retailer drops happened, and it provides no information about PS5 stock or prices today. Its retailer list and timing detail should be read as historical reporting, not a current buying guide.
