When did preorders open, and when was it released?
Sony announced the anniversary collection on September 19, 2024. It scheduled PS5 Pro bundle preorders for September 26 through PlayStation Direct in regions where the service operated, with participating retailers serving other regions. The collection’s release date was November 21, 2024. Sony separately scheduled participating-retailer preorders for the PS5 Digital Edition anniversary bundle to begin October 10; that date was not the PS5 Pro bundle preorder date.

What comes in the bundle?
Sony describes a retro gray design inspired by the original PlayStation and a limited production run of 12,300 numbered PS5 Pro anniversary bundles worldwide. The hardware and included items are:
- PS5 Pro console with a 2 TB SSD and Wi-Fi 7 in territories that support that standard
- Matching DualSense wireless controller and DualSense Edge wireless controller
- DualSense charging station
- Console cover for a disc drive
- Vertical stand
- Controller-style cable connector housing inspired by the original PlayStation
- Four PlayStation Shapes cable ties, a sticker, one of 30 possible poster designs and a paperclip
The console bundle includes a cover for a disc drive, but not the disc drive itself; Sony says the drive is sold separately. The complete official item listing appears on Sony’s US 30th Anniversary collection page.

How to interpret the price if you are comparing editions
The reported launch price covered more than a standard console: the bundle paired a 2 TB PS5 Pro with two matching controllers, a charging station, stand, disc-drive cover and collector items. Its 12,300-console worldwide run also gives it a numbered limited-edition status. Those features are useful for understanding what the original price bought, but they do not establish what a seller should charge now.

For a fair comparison, keep three questions separate: the historical price in your market, which hardware and accessories are included, and the value you personally place on the numbered anniversary design. Do not count a separately sold disc drive as part of the bundle, and do not convert one market’s launch price into another market’s Sony price.
