These are different operating models, not a simple ranking. Printful’s comparison page and Printify’s comparison page describe their respective services; neither establishes a universal winner on quality, speed, or price.
Which service is cheaper?
There is no reliable platform-wide answer. A meaningful comparison adds the product and print cost, shipping, applicable taxes, any paid-plan fee, and any extra customization charge. Then check the result against the selling price and expected order volume rather than comparing catalog prices alone.
What each platform’s pricing includes
Printful says its base product price includes the blank item, one print or embroidery placement, and fulfillment; shipping and taxes are extra, and some customization carries additional fees. Its pricing page lists a free plan and a Growth plan at $24.99 per month, described as free after reaching $12,000 in annual sales. The page displayed 548 custom products on the Free plan when reviewed in 2026. Treat fees, thresholds, and catalog counts as page-specific claims that may change.

Printify’s pricing page lists a Free plan at $0, Premium from $39 per month when billed monthly or $24.99 per month when billed yearly, and custom Enterprise pricing. It advertises product discounts on paid plans. The page also listed 2,000+ products and 70+ Print Providers when reviewed in 2026. Confirm the current plan terms and discounts before including them in a margin forecast.
A vendor example is not a general price comparison
Printify’s comparison page gives a January 2026 example for a Bella+Canvas 3001 ordered through Shopify for delivery to San Francisco: product plus shipping totals of $15.39 for Printify and $16.19 for Printful under its stated assumptions. This is Printify’s scenario, not an independent test or a price guarantee. Your result can differ with provider, plan, destination, shipping method, taxes, and order details.

How the fulfillment models affect your choice
Printful: a more centralized production model
Printful describes production in-house. A centralized approach may make it easier to work with one service model, but it does not prove every item will meet your standards or that each order will come from the same location. Check the selected product’s options, production location, shipping, and branding features.
Printify: choose a provider for each product
Printify gives merchants access to multiple print providers. That creates choice, but the provider attached to a product can affect price, location, available variants and print areas, production method, shipping options, and performance score. Read Printify’s explanation of Print Provider differences, then assess the actual provider and product you intend to sell. A platform-wide impression is not a substitute for product-level vetting.

Production time is not delivery time
Production and fulfillment describe the time before an order is handed to a carrier; delivery time is the carrier’s transit to the customer. Estimates are not guarantees, and location, availability, destination, and shipping method can change the timeline.
Printful estimates
Printful lists 2–5 business days for production and fulfillment. Its shipping information says delivery time depends on product availability and destination. Fulfillment location, destination, method, and carrier pricing affect shipping rates; items fulfilled in different locations may arrive in separate shipments.

Printify estimates
Printify’s shipping-options page lists Economy from $3.99 with estimated US domestic delivery of 4–8 business days, and Standard from $4.75 with a 2–5 business-day estimate for most providers. These are examples from a live help page, not guaranteed or independent delivery statistics. Provider support determines which methods are available. Printify explains that rates vary by shipping method, product type, provider, and destination, and are not included in product price; see its shipping-cost details.

Use the product and destination you actually plan to sell into. For Printify, compare providers attached to that product; for either service, account for the specific garment or item, available variants, print placements, printing method, production location, shipping method, and applicable branding options.

- Choose the likely best-selling item. Compare the same product type and relevant variants on both services; different blanks or placements are not like-for-like.
- Set the destination market. Check where the item will be produced, the available shipping methods, estimated production time, and carrier transit estimate for that destination.
- Calculate the full unit economics. Include product and printing, shipping, taxes, paid-plan cost allocated across expected orders, and any customization fees. Compare the total with your selling price and desired margin.
- Check storefront and brand workflow. Confirm the integration supports the channels and order-management features you need, and verify available labels or packaging options on the relevant product and plan.
- Order samples before scaling. Inspect the exact products and placements you plan to sell. Official comparison pages do not provide an independent, like-for-like quality test across products and destinations, so sample orders are a practical way to assess your own requirements.
Which one is better for beginners?
For a beginner, the better choice is the one that makes the first products and orders easier to evaluate—not necessarily the one with the lowest displayed product price. Printful’s more centralized model may appeal if you prefer a less provider-by-provider selection process. Printify may suit you if you want to compare multiple providers for a product and are willing to check their differences. Both services offer free entry plans and list common ecommerce integrations, including Shopify, but confirm the channel features and availability you need before launch.
