Advance selection of standard seats is complimentary under the airline’s published policy, but some seats can cost extra, and baggage and ticket flexibility depend on fare, status, and which airline operates each segment.
1. Standard advance seat selection is complimentary
Singapore Airlines says Premium Economy passengers can select standard seats in advance without a seat-selection fee. The choice is subject to availability and applies separately to each passenger and flight segment.
Check Singapore Airlines’ seat-selection information or open Manage Booking and view the seat map for your itinerary. The available seats and terms shown for your own flight are more useful than assuming a particular seat will be available.
2. Some seats can carry an additional fee
Extra Legroom Seats may cost extra, and Solo Seats may also be fee-based on selected flights. Singapore Airlines says seat fees and exemptions can depend on seat type, fare type, membership tier, and passenger type; there is no single fee to apply across all Premium Economy flights. Check the price displayed for the seat on your flight before confirming.

3. Your fare type affects more than the ticket price
Premium Economy is a cabin, not a promise of identical ticket conditions. Singapore Airlines says fare type can affect checked-baggage allowance, changes and cancellations, advance seat selection, and KrisFlyer miles earned. Review the fare conditions attached to your ticket or shown in Manage Booking before comparing fares or relying on a particular change or cancellation option.

For itineraries with multiple segments, check each one. Singapore Airlines’ fare conditions apply to flights operated by Singapore Airlines; a partner airline’s conditions apply on partner-operated flights, and conditions can differ between segments. The airline’s fare-types page explains the factors to check, but your ticket and itinerary determine the applicable terms.
4. KrisFlyer and PPS Club status may change the benefits
Singapore Airlines lists tier-based baggage and advance seat-selection privileges for eligible KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club members flying in Premium Economy or Economy. The benefit depends on the traveler’s tier and the terms for the flight; membership alone does not mean every passenger receives the same privilege.

Whether a Premium Economy ticket suits your budget depends on the route, flight, fare, and any status benefits you can use. Singapore Airlines’ published policies do not establish a universal baggage limit or change rule for every Premium Economy ticket, and this information does not establish route-specific availability, aircraft or seat layout, lounge access, or onboard details.

Before deciding, compare these items for the flights you would actually take:
- Seat: Which standard seats are available, and what do Extra Legroom or Solo Seats cost?
- Flight: Is Premium Economy offered on every segment, and who operates each one?
- Baggage: What allowance is stated for your specific fare and itinerary?
- Flexibility: What do your ticket’s change and cancellation conditions allow?
- Status: Do your KrisFlyer or PPS Club privileges apply to each flight?
- Total cost: After any seat fees and other itinerary-specific charges, how does the price compare with your alternatives?
Use the booking details and the airline’s seat map and fare conditions to answer those questions. Do not assume that cabin, baggage, or seat benefits carry over unchanged to a partner-operated flight.
