Was this the result for this week?
No. “This week” refers to the publication date of the PerthNow article, 19 September 2024. Powerball results and prize amounts change from draw to draw. For example, Lotterywest later listed draw 1578 on 13 August 2026 as a $20 million draw; that later listing is not the result described here.
How is Division 1 won?
Under the Australian government’s published Powerball rules, a Division 1 win requires correctly forecasting all seven main balls and the Powerball number in one game. The rules publication is from 2026 and explains the general game rule; it is not confirmation of the September 2024 result.

How firmly is the 2024 result confirmed?
The specific September 2024 prize and numbers are reported by contemporaneous news coverage. An official draw-specific record for that draw was not located in the sources available for this article, so the figures above are attributed to PerthNow and, where noted, The Nightly rather than presented as an independently verified official result.
