What were the winning numbers in Powerball draw 1491?
PerthNow reported the seven main numbers as 9, 11, 19, 3, 14, 23 and 16. The separate Powerball number was 16. These are the numbers reported for draw 1491 in the PerthNow report.
What prizes did the report list?
PerthNow said three Division 1 winners would receive about $4 million each. It also reported 41 Division 2 winners receiving $9,494.45 apiece and 53 Division 3 winners receiving $9,131.30 apiece. Two of the Division 3 winners were in Western Australia.
The report did not name the Division 1 winners or say where their entries were purchased. Its prize figures refer to this 2024 draw; they should not be read as current prize amounts or as independently reverified results.

How does Australian Powerball Division 1 work?
Lotterywest describes the game as a draw of seven balls from a first barrel of 35 and one separate Powerball from a second barrel of 20. A Division 1 win requires matching all seven main numbers and the Powerball. The rules are general game information from Lotterywest’s FAQ, distinct from PerthNow’s historical report of draw 1491.
Can a number-picking strategy improve the odds?
No strategy can increase the chance of winning, according to Lotterywest: “There’s no skill or strategy that will increase your chance of winning as the chance of winning doesn’t change.” Lotterywest says numbers are selected at random and each number has an equal chance of being drawn. The draw 1491 result therefore does not demonstrate a predictive method or a reliable way to choose numbers.

Lotterywest notes that odds vary by game and prize division. A ticket is a chance to win, not a guarantee; its FAQ puts it this way: “You buy just that, a chance to win, not a guarantee.”

Lotterywest’s FAQ lists 6:00 pm Thursdays as the regular Powerball draw closure time. That is the operator’s general schedule, not a separately verified cutoff for historical draw 1491.
