What the Sunday Scaries deal offered
According to QSR Magazine’s August 16, 2024 report, Popeyes offered a free Chicken Sandwich every Sunday from August 18 through September 8, 2024, with an online or app order of at least $10. Brand Eating’s report from the same date specifies that orders could be for pickup or delivery. The deal applied at participating U.S. locations, and terms applied.

Those dates have passed. The sources documenting the offer do not confirm that Popeyes brought it back after 2024, so “is back” should not be treated as verified current availability.
What was on the 2024 menu
Brand Eating described the Sunday Scaries menu as a limited-time selection of existing Popeyes items. Its reported lineup was:

The menu was promoted as Sunday comfort food. In the 2024 QSR report, Popeyes said: “We’re open on Sundays, and we’re here to bring a little comfort to Sunday Scaries – in the form of fried chicken.” That statement described the campaign at the time; it is not a current availability announcement.
What to check before ordering
If you have seen a post claiming the promotion has returned, confirm the offer in Popeyes’ current app, website, or local ordering page before placing an order. Look for the dates, the $10 minimum, eligible ordering channel, pickup or delivery availability, and whether your location participates. The 2024 terms are not evidence that the same offer or conditions apply now.

Why Popeyes used the Sunday Scaries theme
The campaign connected Sunday food orders with anxiety about returning to work or school. QSR Magazine reported that a 2023 LinkedIn survey found 80% of professionals experienced the “Sunday Scaries,” while over 90% of Millennials and Generation Z reported anxiety about returning to their work or school routine. Those figures are attributed to the LinkedIn survey as reported by QSR; the original survey was not independently verified in the available coverage.
A campaign designer’s portfolio later described the work as a 2024 project involving a Sunday “Scary Hour” activation with DoorDash, contextual in-app offers, digital ads, and campus activations. That retrospective provides campaign context, but it does not establish a current promotion or current ordering terms.
