Polaris announced two enclosed-cab RANGER models with different climate-control packages: the 2026 RANGER 1000 CAB has factory heat, while the 2027 RANGER XP 1000 CAB adds factory air conditioning as well as heat. Both are rated by Polaris for a 1,000-pound cargo-box capacity and 2,500-pound towing capacity. The XP is also available in a CREW configuration; the 1000 CAB is three-seat only.
How the two new RANGER CAB models differ
The key choice is between a simpler heated cab and a more powerful model with heat and air conditioning. Polaris announced both on February 5, 2026; its specifications and prices below are manufacturer-published figures, not independent test results.

Does the new RANGER cab have air conditioning?
Only the announced 2027 RANGER XP 1000 CAB includes factory heat and air conditioning. It also has powered front windows. The 2026 RANGER 1000 CAB is listed with factory heat, but not air conditioning. If cooling in warm weather is important, the XP is the model in this announcement with that feature.

Polaris already offered enclosed-cab NorthStar models with heat and air conditioning in its 2026 lineup. The newly announced CAB trims are additions to the broader range, not evidence that CAB and NorthStar versions share identical equipment or prices. Polaris’s 2026 lineup announcement introduced NorthStar context, and the current RANGER lineup page lists model-year offerings.
How much can they carry and tow?
Polaris lists a 1,000-pound cargo-box capacity and 2,500-pound towing capacity for both new CAB models. Those figures are the same on paper, so the choice between these two is not a difference in the published box or towing ratings. Match the vehicle to the loads and work you actually expect to handle, and consult the applicable owner’s manual and dealer for operating limits and safe loading guidance.

Which model may fit your needs?
Consider the 2026 RANGER 1000 CAB if
- A three-seat configuration meets your passenger needs.
- Factory heat is sufficient for your typical weather and work season.
- The included winch and listed front-end equipment suit the tasks you expect to do.
- You want the lower of the two announced U.S. starting MSRPs.
Consider the 2027 RANGER XP 1000 CAB if
- You want factory air conditioning as well as heat.
- You need the option of a three-seat or CREW configuration.
- The higher published engine output, tires and ground clearance are relevant to your intended use.
These are equipment-based distinctions, not a claim that one is best for every buyer. Polaris lists 61 horsepower for the 1000 CAB and 82 horsepower for the XP CAB; the announcement does not provide independent performance comparisons.
What do the launch prices include?
Polaris announced U.S. starting MSRPs of $21,999 for the 2026 RANGER 1000 CAB and $24,499 for the 2027 RANGER XP 1000 CAB. The official RANGER lineup page says MSRP excludes destination and handling fees, tax, title, license and registration, and that dealer prices may vary. Treat the announcement figures as launch starting prices, not a quote for your purchase. Ask a local dealer for the current trim, final price and inventory.

The announced dealer shipping dates were February 2026 for the 1000 CAB and March 2026 for the XP CAB. Because those months have elapsed, contact a dealer rather than assuming a model is currently available.

NorthStar is an existing enclosed-cab RANGER family. Polaris’s current 2027 RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar page describes factory heat and air conditioning, 82 horsepower, 14-inch ground clearance and a 1,000-pound box capacity. Those overlapping specifications do not establish that a NorthStar and a CAB trim have the same equipment, configuration or price; compare the exact model-year listings with a dealer.
