No. The one-million-pizza allocation was part of a limited October 2024 anniversary promotion. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and San Antonio Express-News reported that customers needed to use code BOOKIT40 and make an $8 minimum purchase. The offer was reported to last through October or until the allocation ran out; the exact exhaustion date was not established. How the current BOOK IT! program works
BOOK IT! is a free Pizza Hut reading incentive program for children in Pre-K through sixth grade. Teachers can set reading goals and award certificates when students meet them; families can also participate through homeschool and summer digital tools. The program’s official FAQ says an earned certificate can be redeemed for a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza, and the child who earned it must be present at redemption. School-year program
The school-year program runs October through March. Teachers use the program to set reading goals and recognize students who meet them. The official site showed fall enrollment open and a toolkit for the 2026–27 school year.

Summer of Stories
Summer of Stories is the parent-facing summer option and runs June through August. A child must read at least 20 minutes per day on 15 or more days in a month. Parents can claim that month’s code from the 1st through the 15th of the following month, and the code expires 30 days after it is claimed. Codes can be used online or in the app; delivery minimums may apply. The official Summer of Stories instructions and app guide provide the details.
- Families can enroll up to five children and earn one reward per child per program month.
- Summer rewards are not offered in April, May or September; the school-year and summer calendars are separate.
- Participation is free. Buying books is not a stated requirement for enrollment or rewards.
What Pizza Hut’s anniversary figures mean
The 2024 coverage also cited broader company figures, which should be read as Pizza Hut estimates or company-reported numbers rather than independently audited totals. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Pizza Hut U.S. President Carl Loredo’s statement that BOOK IT! had inspired more than 70 million children, and cited a company press release figure of more than 56 million Personal Pan Pizzas awarded from 2013 to 2023. The San Antonio Express-News reported Pizza Hut’s estimate of more than 1.5 billion pizzas since the program began. These are historical figures reported in 2024, not current totals.

What to do if you want a BOOK IT! pizza reward
- Choose the right program: ask your child’s teacher about school-year participation, or use the official site’s family options for homeschool or Summer of Stories.
- Meet the reading goal: for Summer of Stories, track at least 20 minutes of reading on 15 or more days in the month.
- Claim the reward in time: for summer, claim the code between the 1st and 15th of the following month, then use it within 30 days.
- Check redemption details: follow the current instructions for online, app or restaurant redemption. The child who earned the regular program certificate must be present; delivery minimums may apply for online or app orders.
The regular program is the relevant route for families seeking an earned reading reward; neither the 2024 anniversary code nor the June 2026 pin event is a current claimable offer.
