Pivot Bio’s corporate headquarters is now in Minnetonka, Minnesota, while its announced research and operating centers are in the Greater St. Louis area of Missouri. The distinction matters: the company did not move all of its operations to one Midwest city.
Where Pivot Bio is located now
| Location | Role announced by Pivot Bio | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Minnetonka, Minnesota | Corporate headquarters; the company lists its office at 701 Carlson Parkway. | Pivot Bio, March 4, 2026 |
| Creve Coeur, Missouri | Research, development and innovation center. | Pivot Bio, April 28, 2026 |
| Hazelwood, Missouri | Customer and operations center supporting manufacturing, packaging, distribution and customer service. | Pivot Bio, April 28, 2026 |
Pivot Bio’s announcement places its corporate office in the Minneapolis area, not in St. Louis. The Missouri Department of Economic Development separately described the company’s manufacturing and innovation center as relocated to the St. Louis region.
How the move unfolded
- May 22, 2025: Pivot Bio announced plans for Midwest centers of excellence, including a global headquarters and a research, development, innovation and operations hub. It said some Berkeley employees would relocate and that it expected to add jobs at the selected locations.
- May 23, 2025: Agriculture.com reported that the sites had not yet been disclosed while details were being finalized. That reflected the information available then, not the later locations.
- March 4, 2026: Pivot Bio announced that its corporate headquarters had moved from Berkeley, California, to Minnesota and listed its Minnetonka address.
- April 28, 2026: The company announced its Greater St. Louis centers in Creve Coeur and Hazelwood.
What the company says prompted the move
Pivot Bio said a Midwest presence would bring teams closer to farmer customers, commercial partners and agricultural research institutions. Its 2025 announcement also described closer collaboration among research and development, manufacturing and leadership teams, with faster decision-making and product development as goals. These are the company’s stated aims; the announcements do not demonstrate that the relocation has already improved performance.
For the St. Louis expansion, Pivot Bio linked the region to manufacturing, innovation and agricultural talent. It said Hazelwood would support production, packaging, distribution and customer service, while Creve Coeur would house research and development. Missouri’s Department of Economic Development characterized the expansion as an investment in the state’s agtech sector.

Investment and jobs refer to the Missouri expansion
Pivot Bio said its Greater St. Louis expansion involved more than $7 million in incremental investment and that it expected more than 40 new positions in the region. The Missouri Department of Economic Development described the Hazelwood expansion as an investment of more than $7 million creating 40 new jobs. These are separate organizations’ descriptions of the regional expansion, not figures for the Minnesota headquarters move.
The announcements do not give a full count of employees relocating from Berkeley, a breakdown of new jobs by function, or the number of Berkeley positions eliminated. Pivot Bio’s 2025 announcement also said its nitrogen-fixing technology had been used on nearly 15 million acres across North America since its first microbial nitrogen product launched in 2018; that is a company-reported adoption figure, not an independent acreage estimate.

What the announcements do—and do not—establish
The corporate headquarters move and Missouri operating footprint are confirmed in separate 2026 announcements. The company’s stated reasons are proximity and collaboration, but no independently verified performance statistic in the cited announcements shows that the move has caused faster innovation, increased sales or improved farm results. Pivot Bio’s March 2026 headquarters announcement cited 17 Fortune 500-headquartered companies in Minnesota; that is the company’s figure, rather than an independently verified current statewide count.
