Pinterest’s 2026 forecast points to several distinct fashion directions, not one uniform look: vintage brooches, 1980s-inspired tailoring, utility clothes, literary layers, and icy blue accents. For a practical approach, start with one item that works with clothes you already own—such as a brooch, chunky belt, or utility shirt—rather than treating a trend forecast as a reason to replace your wardrobe.
What Pinterest Predicts 2026 says about fashion
Pinterest published its annual trend forecast on December 9, 2025, for 2026. Its official report draws on global English-language Pinterest searches and visual engagement from September 2023 through August 2025. Unless the report says otherwise, the growth figures below compare normalized searches from September 2024–August 2025 with the previous 12-month period. They measure changes in Pinterest searches—not sales, market share, or a guarantee that a look will catch on broadly.
Pinterest calls the report a “not-yet-trending” forecast and says it analyzed billions of searches and visual engagement using machine learning, predictive analytics, and real-world observations. The company also says 67% of the 2026 trends are driven by Gen Z, while the trends span generations; that is Pinterest’s characterization, not a claim that the styles belong only to younger shoppers. Its report defines Gen Z as ages 18–27, Millennials as 28–43, Gen X as 44–59, and Baby Boomers as 60+.
Pinterest reports that 88% of its trend predictions came true over the previous six years and that its trends last nearly twice as long as trends elsewhere on the internet. Those are company-reported retrospective claims, not independent validation of this particular forecast. The platform also says checkouts on Pinterest Predicts 2025-related content increased 68% year over year; that is a past platform metric, not evidence of future sales for 2026 fashions. Pinterest Newsroom says 600 million people use Pinterest each month to search and shop.

The clearest fashion directions to shop
Brooched: make a pin the outfit’s focal point
Brooched is the most direct single-item shopping opportunity in the forecast: vintage-style brooches, crystal clip-ons, and heirloom pins worn on sleeves, ties, socks, or suit lapels. Pinterest introduces the look with the line, “There’s a new way to wear your heart on your sleeve. Or tie. Or socks.” Its reported searches rose for “brooch aesthetic” (+110%), “maximalist accessories” (+105%), “lapel shirt” (+95%), “brooch for men suit” (+90%), and “heirloom jewelry” (+45%).
For a low-commitment interpretation, use one brooch to personalize a jacket or shirt you already wear. A vintage-style brooch is the most straightforward product match; you do not need a full vintage outfit to try the idea.
Glamoratti: 1980s-inspired power dressing, softened for now
Glamoratti brings back bold, polished proportions: tailored or baggier suits, sculpted shoulders, funnel or high collars, chunky belts, and substantial gold jewelry. Pinterest reports increases for “80s luxury” (+225%), “baggy suit” (+90%), “chunky belt” (+65%), “high collar jacket” (+60%), and “gold cuff” (+50%).

- Used Book in Good Condition
To make the look easier to wear, try one statement element at a time. A chunky belt or gold cuff can add the aesthetic to a plain outfit without requiring a full suit or a new set of tailored pieces. This is a practical styling suggestion based on the listed items, not a recommendation from Pinterest.

Khaki Coded: utility pieces and earthy colors
Khaki Coded takes its cues from workwear, field gear, and outdoor exploration: khaki Bermuda shorts, pocketed vests, utility shirts, field jackets, pleated trousers, and brown linen shirts. Pinterest reports rising searches for “brown linen shirt” (+100%), “field jacket outfit men” (+65%), “utility shirt” (+45%), “paleontologist aesthetic” (+35%), and “pleated trousers” (+30%).
The easiest entry point is a useful garment or earthy color, rather than a full head-to-toe costume. A field jacket, utility shirt, or brown linen shirt can bring the look into an existing casual wardrobe; pleated trousers offer a more tailored option.
Rank #3
Poetcore: literary layers, with accessories optional
Poetcore builds a literary mood from wearable clothes: oversized turtlenecks, vintage blazers, and relaxed layers, sometimes finished with a messenger satchel or fountain pen. Pinterest reports increases for “the poet aesthetic” (+175%), “satchel bags aesthetic” (+85%), “tie accessories” (+85%), “poet core” (+75%), and “cape outfit” (+65%).
Keep the clothing at the center. A blazer or roomy turtleneck can establish the look on its own; a satchel or pen is an optional accent rather than a required purchase.

Laced Up: lace details beyond conventional occasionwear
Laced Up uses doily-like lace across fashion and accessories, including lace collars on bomber jackets, stitched bandanas, and lace belts. Pinterest also lists beauty for this trend. Its rising searches include “lace nails” (+215%), “lace bandana” (+150%), “lace makeup” (+120%), “lace doily” (+105%), and “lace belt” (+55%). The nails and makeup terms are beauty searches, not garment examples; a bandana or belt is a small way to test the fashion side.
Rank #4
- Used Book in Good Condition
Cool Blue: an icy color direction, not only a clothing trend
Cool Blue is a cross-category palette that includes fashion. Pinterest describes cool-toned coats and glacier-inspired accessories, and Pinterest Create characterizes the shade as light, icy blue. Reported searches include “ice blue wedding dress” (+55%) and “icy blue” (+50%). Other increases—“frosted makeup” (+150%) and “blue drinks aesthetic” (+55%)—are not apparel signals. If you want to wear the trend casually, use an icy-blue accessory or coat rather than reading every related search as a clothing idea.
Wilderkind: delicate animal and nature motifs
Wilderkind softens animal references into a nature-inspired look. Fashion examples include fox-inspired outfits and flower outfits; the broader trend also reaches fawn freckles, butterfly-wing nail art, and insect jewelry. Pinterest reports increases for “dragonfly nails” (+145%), “flower outfit men” (+105%), “animal inspired outfits” (+90%), “bug jewellery” (+60%), and “deer aesthetic” (+55%). Several of those terms point to beauty or accessories, so they should not be mistaken for garment searches.
Throwback Kid: a children’s-fashion crossover
Throwback Kid is aimed at vintage-inspired children’s outfits, upcycled baby clothes, and retro references. Pinterest reports “nostalgia toys” (+225%), “2000s kids toys” (+140%), “1970s childhood toys” (+125%), “upcycled baby clothes” (+95%), and “vintage kids fashion” (+35%). The toy searches are nostalgia signals rather than clothing searches; the clearest apparel terms are the baby-clothes and kids-fashion examples.

Extra Celestial: a weaker apparel signal
Pinterest’s report category grid includes fashion under Extra Celestial, alongside beauty, home, and auto. The official newsroom description foregrounds holographic home accents, opalescent makeup, and cosmic silhouettes, but gives limited specific clothing detail. Treat it as a broader visual direction rather than a well-defined clothing shopping list.

The forecast’s styles differ enough that the right choice depends on what you already wear and how much change you want. These comparisons are a practical reading of Pinterest’s examples, not a ranking supplied by the company.
| Direction | Overall feel | Concrete starting point | How easily one detail fits an existing outfit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brooched | Vintage and accessory-led | Brooch or lapel pin | High: a single pin can personalize a jacket, shirt, tie, or sock. |
| Glamoratti | Maximalist and tailored | Chunky belt or gold cuff | High for one accessory; lower if you want the full suit silhouette. |
| Khaki Coded | Utility-minded and earthy | Utility shirt, field jacket, or brown linen shirt | High: functional layers and earthy tones can work with familiar basics. |
| Poetcore | Literary and layered | Vintage blazer or oversized turtleneck | Moderate to high: clothing can carry the look without themed accessories. |
| Laced Up | Delicate and detail-focused | Lace bandana or belt | High for a small accessory; garment options are less prominent in the examples. |
| Cool Blue | Icy and color-led | Icy-blue accessory or coat | High if you already wear cool colors; a coat is a larger commitment. |
| Wilderkind | Nature-inspired and delicate | Floral clothing detail or insect-inspired jewelry | Moderate: the examples span clothing, beauty, and accessories. |
| Throwback Kid | Retro children’s style | Upcycled baby clothes or vintage-inspired kidswear | Relevant primarily when shopping for children. |
- Start with your actual use case. Choose an item you would wear or use even if the forecast did not become a wider trend: a versatile jacket, a belt, or a small accessory.
- Try one visible detail first. A brooch, cuff, lace bandana, or icy-blue accent can test an aesthetic without requiring a coordinated wardrobe.
- Check versatility before buying. Consider whether the item works with several things you already own, fits your usual occasions, and suits the weather where you live.
- Set a spending limit. Treat the search percentages as evidence of attention on Pinterest, not a reason to spend more or buy quickly. For a higher-cost piece such as a suit or coat, consider whether you would wear it beyond a trend-led outfit.
How to read Pinterest’s search percentages
Pinterest’s figures describe year-over-year changes in its own searches, using the report’s stated comparison period. A +110% figure means searches for that phrase increased relative to the prior period on Pinterest; it does not mean the item sold 110% more, that the trend is equally popular in every country, or that it will suit every shopper. Search growth can help identify the themes Pinterest is seeing, but it cannot by itself establish future retail demand.
The report is a forecast published in December 2025 and its analysis runs through August 2025. It should be read as a snapshot of emerging interest, not as data collected throughout 2026. Pinterest Business describes the report as: “Our annual not-yet-trending report, Pinterest Predicts™, is finally here.”
