Four days later, the company announced a $10 million investment round and introduced CEO Protection, a service for executives and people close to them. The company said the legal entity, customer contracts and service experience remained unchanged; the operating name, website domain and team email addresses changed.
What changed in the rebrand?
In its April 18, 2025 announcement, VanishID Director of Marketing Matias Comella said the new name better conveyed the company’s focus on protecting personal and corporate identities and reducing people’s online exposure. He said the Picnic name could feel disconnected from that mission to executives and employees unfamiliar with its acronym history. VanishID’s rebrand announcement described Picnic Corporation as continuing to operate as the legal business entity, now doing business as VanishID.
The company said existing contracts, legal documents, customer contacts and service experience would remain the same. The visible changes were the brand, website domain and team email addresses.
What did VanishID announce about funding?
On April 22, 2025, VanishID said it had raised $10 million. The company said Dell Technologies Capital led the round, with Mark McLaughlin, former CEO and chairman of Palo Alto Networks, participating. Crosslink Capital, Rally Ventures, Energy Impact Partners and Bright Pixel continued their participation, and LockStep Ventures joined. These are details reported by VanishID in its April 22 funding announcement.

VanishID said it planned to use the investment to expand go-to-market activity and extend its agentic AI remediation capabilities. That describes the company’s stated plans, not independently verified results or a later funding status.
What is CEO Protection?
VanishID introduced CEO Protection alongside the funding announcement. At launch, the company described it as including benefits from its Executive Protection tier, such as personal-device protection and social-media impersonation protection, with coverage for up to 25 family members or close associates. It also included a Red Team Assessment covering physical and digital exposure: an examination of how threat actors might target an executive, family members and close peers.
Company-hosted SecurityWeek coverage also described executive-protection capabilities including dark-web monitoring for compromised passwords, fake social-media-account detection, identification of misconfigured websites, data and fake-profile takedowns, and device malware protection. It described employee protection as including exposed-data monitoring and automated takedowns. This coverage is reproduced on VanishID’s website, and the company’s launch details date to April 2025; they do not establish current packaging. Read the hosted coverage.
What does VanishID say its service does?
The company describes its offering as continuous monitoring and reduction of public-data exposure using open-source intelligence (OSINT) and agentic AI. Its funding announcement says the service can remove public personally identifiable information without requiring end users to supply PII or security teams to integrate internal systems. Those are vendor descriptions; the cited announcements do not independently measure removal success or establish how effective the service is.
How should readers interpret the exposure statistics?
VanishID’s April 2025 announcement said that more than 93% of C-suite executives have a home address exposed and 99.97% have been involved in a data breach. The announcement passage does not provide a sample, methodology or separate original research publisher. Treat both figures as claims attributed to VanishID, not as independently verified estimates or representative statistics for all executives. The company’s announcement is the source for the figures.

The dated announcements establish what VanishID said about its rebrand, investment and CEO Protection launch in April 2025. They do not establish current service tiers, pricing, efficacy, or whether the funding and product details have since changed. VanishID’s press-release archive lists later announcements and partnerships, including Carahsoft and Scamnetic, but that information does not establish affiliate terms or a current product comparison.
