The latest figures are not a single, definitive net-worth total for Philip and Cristina Green. Forbes’s real-time profile estimated Cristina Green’s individual net worth at $1.4 billion as of October 7, 2026. Separately, The Sunday Times Rich List 2025 estimated Sir Philip and Lady Green’s combined wealth at £905 million, ranking them joint 175th. The estimates have different subjects, dates, currencies and methods, so they should not be added together or treated as directly comparable.

What are Philip and Cristina Green’s net worth estimates?

Source Estimate Scope and date
Forbes $1.4 billion Individual estimate for Cristina Green; real-time figure dated October 7, 2026. Forbes labels the profile text last updated March 10, 2026.
The Sunday Times Rich List 2025, as reported by The Sunday Times £905 million Joint estimate for Sir Philip and Lady Green in the 2025 list; ranked joint 175th.

These are published estimates, not audited accounts of the Greens’ complete assets and liabilities. The sources cited here do not establish an audited, current personal net-worth figure for the couple. Forbes’s real-time estimate may change; the Rich List figure belongs to its 2025 annual edition.

How did the Greens make their money?

Forbes identifies fashion retail as Cristina Green’s source of wealth and says she and Philip Green owned Arcadia Group. The group’s best-known brands included Topshop, Top Man and Dorothy Perkins. Forbes reports that Arcadia fell into bankruptcy during the Covid-19 pandemic and that those brands were subsequently sold. The Sunday Times Rich List 2025 describes Philip Green as the former owner of BHS.

Why BHS remains part of the Greens’ financial story

In a July 25, 2016 report, the UK Parliament’s Work and Pensions and Business, Innovation and Skills Committees examined BHS’s ownership, sale and pension position. The committees said Philip Green bought BHS for £200 million and sold it 14 years later for £1. They criticized the sale process and governance, and discussed financial extraction, the pension deficit, and risks to employees and pensioners. Those are the committees’ findings and criticisms, not a calculation of the Greens’ present wealth. The report’s summary stated: “The headline figures that Sir Philip bought BHS for £200 million and sold it 14 years later for £1 cannot disguise the true picture.” Read the parliamentary committees’ BHS report.

The store-property arrangements described by the committees

The parliamentary report says ten BHS stores were sold in 2001 for £106 million to Carmen Properties, ultimately owned by Lady Green. It says BHS paid Carmen £153 million in rent over the arrangement’s lifetime and that the properties were later sold back as part of the sale to RAL for £70 million. These are historical figures from the committees’ account; they do not establish current asset values or personal net worth.

How have published estimates changed over time?

As historical context, The Sunday Times Rich List estimated the Greens’ wealth at £4.9 billion in 2006 and about £950 million in 2020, according to The Guardian’s December 1, 2020 report. That report also said Arcadia entered administration and that the Rich List described Arcadia as worthless amid its debts. These past estimates reflect earlier list years and changing business circumstances; they should not be projected onto a current personal balance sheet.

Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.
  • From the acclaimed, award-winning author of Alexander Hamilton: here is the essential, endlessly engrossing biography of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.—the Jekyll-and-Hyde of American capitalism.
  • In the course of his nearly 98 years, Rockefeller was known as both a rapacious robber baron, whose Standard Oil Company rode roughshod over an industry, and a philanthropist who donated money lavishly to universities and medical centers.
  • He was the terror of his competitors, the bogeyman of reformers, the delight of caricaturists—and an utter enigma.

Why the two latest figures are not a direct comparison

  • Different people covered: Forbes’s $1.4 billion is an individual estimate for Cristina Green; the £905 million Rich List figure covers Sir Philip and Lady Green jointly.
  • Different dates and formats: Forbes displays a real-time amount with an October 7, 2026 date, while the Rich List gives an annual 2025 estimate.
  • Different currencies: One is in US dollars and the other in pounds. Comparing them numerically would require a dated exchange rate, and currency conversion alone would not make their subjects or methods equivalent.
