She first suspected the Lotterywest app alert might be a scam, then received a phone call the next morning confirming the win, according to PerthNow’s report of 31 October 2025.
How the winner learned about the prize
PerthNow reported that the unnamed winner lives north of the river in Perth. She saw a notification through the Lotterywest app on a Monday and, unsure whether it was genuine, emailed Lotterywest customer service. The next morning, a phone call verified the win.
“I thought I was hallucinating when I saw the number on my screen, I was in such shock,” she told PerthNow. She described the confirming call as surreal: “The following morning, I received a phone call verifying it wasn’t a dream and I had won, which was all very surreal.”
The report identifies the prize as $1 million in Millionaire Medley Division One. It does not provide a draw number, exact draw date, ticket details, or the winner’s name.

Lotterywest announcements from 2024 cover different Millionaire Medley winners, not this woman. One December 2024 release described a separate Perth woman who won $1 million after buying a System 8 ticket shortly before a draw. A June 2024 release said Millionaire Medley then had Monday, Wednesday, and Friday draws and offered six players a chance to win $1 million. Those dated details do not confirm the rules or schedule in 2025 or today, and they should not be used to infer this winner’s ticket or draw.
