What happened in the Perth Set for Life draw?
In a release dated 25 September 2024, Lotterywest said a Division One Set for Life ticket sold at Raine Square Newsagency had matched the numbers in the previous evening’s draw. The ticket was purchased at the newsagency in Perth CBD. Lotterywest did not identify the winner in the release.
Lotterywest described the result as Western Australia’s second Set for Life win so far in 2024. The first was a ticket from Northam that won in early August, according to the same release.
How much was the prize worth?
Lotterywest stated that the winner would receive $20,000 per month for 20 years. That schedule works out to 240 monthly payments and $4.8 million in nominal payments in total ($20,000 × 240); it is not a single upfront prize of $4.8 million. The announcement does not establish whether the winner claimed the prize or chose a different payout arrangement.

Was this the same as the other September Set for Life win?
No. Lotterywest announced a separate Set for Life win on 30 September 2024 for a ticket bought online. That was a different event from the Raine Square Newsagency ticket reported on 25 September.
What else did Lotterywest report at the time?
Lotterywest’s 25 September 2024 release said that, in 2024 to that date, 44 WA players had shared more than $57 million in lottery prizes. This is a contemporaneous year-to-date figure, not a current tally. Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender also told PerthNow: “What a great week for WA, it’s as if the long weekend never ended.”
