He usually played his favourite numbers; this time, he made an unplanned choice at Flinders Square Lucky Lotto in Yokine.
How the Yokine man found out he had won
The winner returned to the retailer the following morning to check his ticket. Lotterywest said he could hardly believe the machine showed a win. “I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
He described the change from his usual routine this way: “I always play with my favourite numbers, but for no reason at all I thought I’d get a Slikpik for the first time.” Lotterywest did not identify him by name.
What he plans to do with the prize
The semi-retired winner told Lotterywest he planned to retire fully, spend more time on the golf course, and help his son, nieces and nephews. The announcement did not specify how he would divide or manage the money.

Another Perth player also won $1 million
The same draw produced a second Millionaire Medley Division One winner: a FIFO worker from Perth’s eastern suburbs. Lotterywest said he hoped to find work closer to home and spend more time with his family.
What is known about the draw
PerthNow reported the winning numbers as 4, 5, 13, 19, 26 and 37, with supplementary numbers 9 and 17. Lotterywest’s announcement did not state the draw’s exact calendar date.

Lotterywest’s Millionaire Medley information page lists draws on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It describes Division One as $1 million for up to six winners and gives approximate odds of 1 in 8,145,060 for one standard game. The game uses the first six of eight drawn numbers as winning numbers, with the final two as supplementary numbers. A Slikpik does not improve the odds
A Slikpik is a randomly selected entry, but choosing it rather than favourite numbers does not make a standard game more likely to win. Lotterywest says the published odds are the same for each standard game played. This win is a striking change of routine, not evidence that random picks are a better strategy.

Lotterywest’s figures from June 2025
In the 26 June 2025 announcement, Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the two Perth wins followed five Division One wins in WA over the preceding weekend. She also said 40 WA winners had shared more than $75 million during 2025 up to that point. Those are figures reported at the time, not current totals. Wender said: “It’s wonderful meeting these winners and hearing how their lives will change for the better.”
