A Tapping man in his 30s won a reported $628,000 Division One prize and said he planned to buy a dirt bike, put a deposit on a house and take his family to Japan. PerthNow reported his account on 8 February 2024; the winner was not named, and the report described these as plans rather than completed purchases.
How the Tapping man said he won
In Natalie Richards’ 8 February 2024 report, PerthNow said the man bought an online Slikpik after reinvesting a small amount he had won in the previous week’s $200 million Powerball. The man said he usually bought a ticket for bigger jackpots and was shocked when he opened the Lotterywest App on Saturday night and saw he had won. He told his partner, who responded, “you’re lying.”
PerthNow reported the Division One prize as $628,000. The report did not name the winner, and its prize and draw details are not independently confirmed here against an official Lotterywest record.
What he said he would do with the winnings
The winner told PerthNow he wanted to buy a dirt bike so he could ride with his brother, put a deposit on a house and take a family holiday to Japan. These were intentions he described at the time of the interview; the report does not establish whether he later made any of those purchases or trips.
