Is Perfect Stranger Australian?
Yes. Westfield describes Perfect Stranger as Australian-born and locally designed. Universal Store Holdings’ FY22 presentation says the label was created in 2014. Its retail development followed later: it began with a Chermside pop-up in December 2020 and opened its first full-line store in November 2021. The company said Perfect Stranger represented more than 16% of Universal Store sales in FY22; that historical company figure is not a measure of the Carousel store’s performance. Universal Store Holdings’ FY22 presentation records those milestones.

Brand manager Paige Hanger said customers had asked for a store on the west coast, and that the collection suited the Perth lifestyle. The opening therefore brought a physical store to customers who had expressed interest while giving the label a presence in WA. Hanger’s explanation was reported by PerthNow.
