What did TEAMtalk report about PCP and Tottenham?
TEAMtalk’s 28 February 2026 article said Staveley and Ghodoussi were pursuing a purchase of Tottenham through PCP Capital Partners and that discussions had stalled because of Lewis family hesitation. The account attributed its information to unnamed sources. It also said funding was believed to exceed £3 billion; that is a reported funding estimate, not a verified offer amount, purchase price or valuation.
No official published figure for a PCP offer price or agreed valuation appears in the sources cited here. There is also no public confirmation in those sources that an offer was made, accepted, withdrawn or completed.
What did Tottenham confirm about the earlier PCP approach?
On 7 September 2025, Tottenham said ENIC had received separate preliminary expressions of interest in proposals to acquire ENIC’s entire issued and to-be-issued share capital. One approach was from PCP International Finance Limited. The club said the expressions had been “unequivocally rejected,” that Tottenham was not for sale, and that ENIC would not accept an offer for its interest. Tottenham’s statement is authoritative about those earlier approaches; it does not establish the status of any later private discussions reported in 2026.

Why do the reports describe acquiring ENIC rather than simply buying the club?
The wording of the 2025 statement concerned proposals to acquire ENIC’s share capital, while Tottenham is operated through Tottenham Hotspur Limited. The distinction matters: an approach to buy a parent company’s shares is not necessarily described in the same way as a direct purchase of shares in the club company. What did the Lewis family and chairman say in May 2026?
On 25 May 2026, Tottenham published a letter from Non-Executive Chairman Peter Charrington. He wrote: “The Lewis family are wholly committed to this Club and to this rebuild.” Read Charrington’s letter.
Tottenham also published a message from the Lewis family on 27 May 2026. Neither publication directly confirms or denies the reported 2026 discussions, nor does either disclose their outcome. A statement of commitment to the club is not, by itself, a transaction-status update.

Is Tottenham for sale, and have the talks been resolved?
The club’s September 2025 statement said Tottenham was not for sale and that ENIC would not accept an offer for its interest at that time. The subsequent report of 2026 talks has not been confirmed by the club in the sources cited here. The later May 2026 messages express commitment but do not settle whether private talks occurred or what happened to them. Accordingly, the reported talks’ current status remains unconfirmed in the public material cited here.
