There is no legal list of online casinos to recommend to people in Australia. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) says online casinos, including real-money pokies, are prohibited services under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. PayID being offered as a deposit method does not make a casino legal or show that it will pay out quickly. Before using any online gambling service, check its status with ACMA—and do not send extra money to release winnings.
Why this is not a ranking of PayID casinos
This title asks for casinos ranked by PayID support and withdrawal speed. But ACMA says gambling providers must not offer online casinos to people in Australia, and prohibited services must not be advertised here. That makes a list of recommended Australian-facing online casinos inappropriate. ACMA also identifies slots or pokies and other casino-style games among illegal online services.
There is no verified comparison here of casino payout times, PayID availability, fees or withdrawal limits. A site’s claim that it offers instant cashouts is not evidence that the service is lawful or that a withdrawal will be paid.
What the ACMA register can—and cannot—tell you
ACMA advises checking an online wagering service against its register of licensed interactive gambling providers. The register is a way to check whether a provider is licensed for wagering in Australia; it is not approval for that provider to offer online casino games. ACMA separately identifies online casinos as banned services.

- Find ACMA’s official page titled Check if a gambling operator is legal and open the current register from there.
- Search for the provider and compare the exact website address you intend to use with the details shown in the register. A similar name is not enough to establish that a particular site is the listed provider.
- Check the product category as well as the operator. A provider’s presence on a wagering register does not make casino games or real-money pokies legal.
- If the provider or domain cannot be matched, do not deposit while trying to resolve the uncertainty.
ACMA’s register page was last updated on 7 September 2026 and can change. ACMA also cautions that it accepts no liability for losses arising from reliance on the register or linked websites, so treat the register as a verification tool, not a guarantee against loss. The page’s listed providers do not override the separate prohibition on online casinos.
Why a PayID option is not proof of safety
In its 2024–25 compliance report, published in 2025, ACMA reported a “substantial increase” in illegal online gambling services offering or advertising PayID for deposits. The report describes a qualitative finding, not a percentage or count. ACMA noted that PayID is used in Australia and that customers and service providers were facilitating payments through Australian bank accounts; work with AUSTRAC and financial institutions to examine payment flows was ongoing.

AUSTRAC/Fintel Alliance warns: “If you are asked to transfer funds to a PayID (mobile number, email address, or ABN), it is almost certainly a scambling website.” “Scambling” refers to online gambling platforms advertised through social or messaging groups that direct users to scam websites. That warning is a reason to stop and verify, not a way to determine a site’s status from its payment method alone.
| What you see | What it establishes | Safer response |
|---|---|---|
| A site accepts PayID deposits | Only that it is asking for a PayID payment; it does not establish legality, reliability or withdrawal speed. | Check the provider and product against ACMA’s guidance before sending money. |
| Requests for repeated small transfers or transfers to different PayIDs | Scamwatch identifies this pattern as a reason to be wary. | Stop paying and contact your bank or payment provider if you have already transferred funds. |
| A withdrawal is blocked unless you pay an additional “release” or “verification” amount | ACCC and Scamwatch warn against paying to unlock winnings, recover losses or prove identity. | Do not send the extra payment. Contact your bank or payment provider promptly. |
How to respond if a site blocks a withdrawal
- Stop sending money. Do not pay a fee to release winnings, recover earlier deposits or prove your identity. A request to pay more is not a reliable way to get funds back.
- Contact your bank or payment provider promptly. Tell them what happened and provide the payment details they request. AUSTRAC/Fintel Alliance and the ACCC both advise contacting the financial institution after a scam.
- Keep records. Save messages, payment instructions, transaction receipts, account details and screenshots of the withdrawal request or refusal. These can help when explaining the incident to your financial institution or making a report.
- Report the incident through official channels. Use the relevant Australian Government scam-reporting guidance, including Scamwatch, and follow advice from your bank or payment provider.
- Protect identity information. Do not send identity documents to a service unless you are sure you are dealing with a regulated Australian business. If you have already shared sensitive information, tell your bank and follow the relevant official identity-safety advice.
The ACCC says scam gambling platforms can look legitimate, block withdrawals, demand further payments, manipulate outcomes or fail to pay genuine winnings. Some may make small early payments to gain trust. A polished website, favourable reviews or an earlier small payout does not establish that later withdrawals will be honoured.

What changed in 2026—and what had not started yet
ACMA says the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Gambling Reform) Bill 2026 passed Parliament on 19 August 2026. The announced measures include gambling-advertising restrictions, an opt-out register and a ban on commissions to staff or affiliates based on customer activity. ACMA states that most reforms are due to commence on 1 January 2027. As of 8 October 2026, those scheduled measures should not be described as already in force. The existing prohibition on online casinos is separate from that future commencement date.

Do not choose an online casino on the basis of PayID acceptance or a promised quick withdrawal. ACMA says online casinos are prohibited services in Australia, and PayID claims do not verify a site’s legality or payout performance. Check ACMA’s current register for lawful wagering providers, remembering that registration does not permit casino games; if a site demands more money to release funds, stop paying and contact your bank or payment provider.
