Did Tatoosh sell for $90 million?
No confirmed sale price is available in the sources reporting the sale. GeekWire described $90 million as the asking price while Tatoosh was on the market and reported that the buyer and sale price were not disclosed. Fraser, the brokerage representing the seller, announced the sale on November 4, 2022, without naming the buyer or publishing a transaction figure. GeekWire’s report and Fraser’s announcement therefore establish a sale, but not a $90 million sale price.
What is known about the sale?
Fraser said that broker Stuart Larsen represented the seller. The announcement identifies Tatoosh as a Nobiskrug motor yacht and says it had completed an extensive refit in early 2021. Neither that announcement nor GeekWire’s contemporaneous report identifies the buyer.
How Tatoosh became associated with Paul Allen
Tatoosh was built by German shipyard Nobiskrug and delivered in 2000, according to YachtBuyer’s vessel profile and brokerage reporting. GeekWire reported that Paul Allen purchased it from Craig McCaw in 2001 for $100 million. That figure is a reported historical purchase price, not an official disclosure of the later sale proceeds.

The yacht’s design credits vary by discipline: YachtBuyer associates Studio Yacht/Kusch Yachts with naval architecture and exterior design, and Terence Disdale with the interior. Fraser also credited Disdale with the interior in its sale notice.
How large is the yacht, and what did it include?
Fraser described Tatoosh as 92 meters (303 feet) in its 2022 sale announcement. Stuart Larsen’s 2021 marketing material gave a length of 92.4 meters (also 303 feet). The small difference reflects the figures as published; it is not evidence of a substantive change in the yacht’s length.

Fraser’s description lists a full-beam owner’s stateroom with an adjoining apartment complex, plus 10 other staterooms. It also describes two helicopter pads, large tenders, a swimming pool, a beach club, an elevator and a cinema. Separate 2021 brokerage marketing stated capacity for up to 19 guests in 11 staterooms. These are descriptions from the sale and marketing materials, not confirmation of the yacht’s present configuration or condition.
For further scale, SuperyachtNews’ 2022 vessel coverage reported 3,229 gross tonnage and a maximum speed of 19 knots. Gross tonnage is a measure of enclosed volume, not the yacht’s weight.
