The application deadline for the Patna High Court’s 171 Regular Mazdoor posts was 18 March 2025; the fee-payment deadline was 20 March 2025. This is no longer an open recruitment: the High Court’s listing shows the final appointment result was published on 10 March 2026. Candidates checking an individual appointment should consult the latest official notices, as later notices include joining and cancellation matters.

What were the application dates?

Advertisement No. PHC/01/2025, dated 11 February 2025, invited online applications from 17 February through 18 March 2025. Candidates had until 20 March 2025 to pay the application fee. These dates are historical, and applications for this cycle are closed. The Patna High Court’s recruitment listing records the subsequent stages and result.

What posts and pay did the notice offer?

The advertisement covered 171 fresh Regular Mazdoor vacancies, a Group-C post. The pay-matrix range was ₹14,800–₹40,300, plus allowances admissible under applicable Patna High Court rules. Appointment was initially subject to one year of probation. The official recruitment advertisement and notices are listed by the High Court.

Category Vacancies stated in the notice
Unreserved 74
Scheduled Caste 27
Scheduled Tribe 2
Extremely Backward Class 31
Backward Class 20
Economically Weaker Section 17
Total 171

The notice also listed 57 horizontally reserved posts for women and seven for orthopedically handicapped (locomotor-disabled) candidates across the respective categories. Applicants should rely on the advertisement’s category rules and caveats rather than infer eligibility from these figures alone.

Who was eligible?

The minimum conditions were assessed as of 1 January 2025. Candidates needed to meet all of the following conditions:

  • Have passed at least eighth grade from a recognized board or institution.
  • Hold no higher qualification than intermediate (12th pass) from a recognized board or institution.
  • Know how to cycle.
  • Be proficient in life skills.

The notice specified both a minimum and a maximum educational qualification; it was not simply an eighth-grade minimum. The exact eligibility terms appear in Advertisement No. PHC/01/2025 on the High Court recruitment listing.

How did selection work?

The advertised process included an OMR-based multiple-choice written test, cycling test, skill test and interview. The written test lasted two hours. Candidates qualifying in the written test were to take the cycling test before consideration for the skill test and interview. Cycling was not mandatory for OH candidates.

Stage Marks or threshold in the advertisement Purpose or details
Written test 50 marks; 40% minimum qualifying marks General Knowledge and Awareness: 20; Basic Mathematics: 10; General Hindi: 10; General English: 10. OMR-based multiple-choice test, two hours.
Cycling test No marks stated Required for candidates who qualified in the written test before consideration for the next stages; not mandatory for OH candidates.
Skill test 30 marks; 40% minimum qualifying marks Part of the final merit assessment.
Interview 20 marks; 30% minimum qualifying marks Part of the final merit assessment.

The advertisement said final merit would be based on written-test and skill-test/interview marks. It described the cycling test as a stage in the process, but did not assign it marks in the annexed scheme. The official scheme and thresholds are in the recruitment advertisement.

What happened after applications closed?

The written test took place on 22 June 2025. In a notice dated 20 November 2025, the High Court reported that 30,160 candidates had appeared and 4,757 had been shortlisted for the next stage. Shortlisting applied the minimum qualifying marks, category reservation roster and a limit of up to 25 times the vacancies; candidates tied at the last shortlisted mark were also included. The official recruitment listing includes the written-test and later-stage notices.

The listing subsequently recorded cycling-test notices in December 2025, an interview notice in January 2026, and publication of the final appointment result on 10 March 2026. It also includes later notices concerning appointment or joining and cancellation for some selected candidates. The result publication date does not establish the current appointment status of every person or vacancy; use the latest official notice for candidate-specific status.
