Myco’s reported PKR 420 million outcome was a mix of investment and SaaS contract value—not $1.5 million in funding.

Myco’s reported PKR 420 million outcome was not all investment. After appearing in Season 9 of Meet the Drapers, the Pakistani streaming platform reportedly secured a $500,000 investment plus a separate $1 million SaaS service contract. The combined value was reported as about $1.5 million, or PKR 420 million.

What did Myco receive?

ProPakistani reported on 4 August 2025 that Myco secured two distinct components after the show’s due-diligence process: a $500,000 investment and a $1 million SaaS service contract. The combined reported value was about $1.5 million, expressed in the coverage as PKR 420 million. The Express Tribune also reported the combined outcome on 6 August 2025.

Component Reported amount What it represents
Investment $500,000 Funding for Myco, as reported by ProPakistani in August 2025.
SaaS service contract $1 million Contract value for SaaS services, not investment. Myco’s founder said it included advance payment for the first year of a Draper TV technology project.
Combined reported value About $1.5 million, or PKR 420 million The reported total of the investment and contract; it should not be described as $1.5 million raised.

The figures are reported amounts, not independently audited financial disclosures in the cited coverage. A contract’s total value is also not interchangeable with investment capital: one is payment for services under an agreement, while the other is funding invested in the company.

How did the deal follow the show?

Myco competed in Season 9 of Meet the Drapers, the startup show associated with investor Tim Draper. ProPakistani reported that the finale was recorded in California in April 2025 and that the deal followed due diligence in July. Dawn’s 5 August 2025 item, which is explicitly labeled branded content, also reported on the outcome.

The Express Tribune described Myco as the first Pakistani-origin startup to reach the show’s finale and the season’s top startup by combined deal value. Those are claims reported by that publication; they do not change what the deal comprises.

What did Myco’s founder say about the contract and streaming rights?

In a LinkedIn post, Myco founder and managing director Umair Masoom Usmani said the company had received investment funding and “the full advance payment for Year 1 of our SaaS / tech project for Draper TV.” His statement describes the service-contract payment as an advance for the project’s first year.

The same post says Myco received global streaming rights to Season 9. That is the founder’s claim. The cited coverage does not establish the contract’s precise scope, term, territories, or exclusivity, so the claim should not be read as a verified description of those rights.
