Pakistan petrol price today: what rate is confirmed?
Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that petrol (Motor Spirit) cost Rs387.40 per litre from October 1, 2026, down from Rs387.54. The reported reduction was Rs0.14 per litre. These are figures APP attributed to a Petroleum Division notification; the notification itself was not available in the source material reviewed for this report. APP’s October 1 price report.
Did petrol price change this week?
The available evidence does not establish whether petrol stayed at Rs387.40 per litre in the subsequent week. The Petroleum Division’s latest-news index lists petroleum-price update entries dated October 3–5, October 6, and October 7, while OGRA’s price-publication index lists publications effective October 3 and October 6. Accordingly, the headline claim that the government kept petrol unchanged for a second week should not be treated as confirmed without the actual later notice and its rate. The latest rate directly supported by the reported figures here is the October 1 price.

What was the diesel price on October 1?
APP reported high-speed diesel at Rs400.35 per litre from October 1, 2026, down Rs1.89 from Rs402.24. The petrol and diesel figures are both reported rates attributed to the Petroleum Division notification, rather than independently retrieved copies of that notification. How were the October 1 prices set?
APP said the revised rates were based on ex-depot prices determined by OGRA and reflected international-market developments, including Platts rates, premiums, and related costs. That is APP’s summary of the notification; it should not be read as a complete pricing formula or as an explanation of any later price update.
