Did OGRA reduce LPG prices?
No. The October 2026 reporting describes an increase compared with September: Dawn put the change for an 11.8 kg cylinder at Rs244.14. The headline wording “reduction” does not match the current-month comparison. How to interpret the notified price
OGRA publishes monthly LPG price notifications. Its June 2026 notification described a maximum price regulated across supply-chain levels for indigenous and imported LPG; that earlier notice provides general context, not confirmation of the exact wording or terms in October’s notification. A notified maximum is not proof that every local refill seller charged exactly that amount. The October reports establish the reported notified rates, but do not establish the price at a particular shop or whether enforcement changed local prices. Check the October notice on OGRA’s LPG notified prices page and ask local sellers for the refill price before purchasing.
What the October change means for household costs
For the standard 11.8 kg cylinder cited in the news reports, the October figure is Rs244.14 higher than September’s reported price. That is a comparison of reported cylinder prices, not a guarantee of the amount an individual household paid: actual local charges may differ, and the available reports do not provide location-specific retail prices.
