The “highest since May” comparison referred to a $30 million Oz Lotto win in May 2023, according to PerthNow’s report published 8 July 2024.
What the headline referred to
PerthNow reported on 8 July 2024 that Oz Lotto’s jackpot had reached $30 million for the following evening’s draw, scheduled for Tuesday, 9 July. Its “highest since May” wording pointed back to a $30 million jackpot won in May 2023 by a group of eight golf friends. These are historical details from that report, not evidence of a 2026 jackpot.
How Oz Lotto works
Lotterywest says Oz Lotto draws take place every Tuesday. A standard game requires seven numbers from a pool of 47. Three supplementary numbers are also drawn and are used in determining lower-division prizes. Lotterywest lists the starting Division 1 prize pool as $4 million.
Lotterywest describes the game as jackpotting: if nobody wins Division 1, the prize pool increases for the next draw. The $4 million starting pool is the general starting amount, not the $30 million figure in the 2024 headline. See Lotterywest’s official Oz Lotto information for its game details.

What are the odds of winning the Oz Lotto jackpot?
Lotterywest lists the Division 1 odds for one standard game as 1 in 62,891,499. That is the published probability for the standard game, not a prediction about any particular player or draw. Choosing numbers by birthdays, patterns or other systems does not change the odds for a standard game.
Is Oz Lotto currently at $30 million?
The $30 million figure belongs to the draw reported in July 2024. The available official game page provides mechanics and odds but does not establish a current 2026 jackpot amount. Check the lottery operator’s current information before relying on any live jackpot figure.
