Which OSSC admit-card notice did the headline refer to?
Scroll’s 10 October 2024 report concerned the written examination for the Combined Recruitment Examination for different posts having Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test-2023, under Advertisement No. 5053. The report described an admit-card release for that recruitment cycle. It should not be read as confirmation that a 2023-cycle letter is still available or that a new admit card has been released in 2026. The OSSC homepage now carries notices for later recruitment activity.

How to find and download an OSSC admit card
The current OSSC homepage provides a “Download Admit Card” form. Its options may serve later cycles, so first confirm that the relevant notice is for your post and examination.

- Open the OSSC official website.
- Check “What’s New” and select the notice matching your post and recruitment cycle.
- Open “Download Admit Card” and select the relevant post.
- Enter your date of birth, select one account identifier—registered mobile number, username or registration number—and complete the captcha.
- Submit the form and download the letter if it is available for your examination. Save a copy and follow the notice’s instructions about printing and carrying it.
If the form does not return a letter, check that you selected the correct post and entered the date of birth and identifier associated with your application. Then recheck the relevant OSSC notice for release information or contact details; do not assume that a letter from an older cycle remains accessible.
Dates, shifts and marking reported for the 2024 examination
Scroll reported that the written examination for this specific cycle was scheduled for 17–23 October 2024. It listed two shifts: 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The report also stated a deduction of 0.25 marks per wrong question. These are details reported for the 2024 cycle, not general rules for later OSSC examinations.
What to verify on your own admission letter
Use the details printed on your individual letter as the authority for attending an examination. Confirm the date, shift, reporting requirements, venue and any identification or other instructions. If a detail differs from an older news report, follow the current official notice and your letter rather than reusing the historical schedule.
