What was the OPSC MO recruitment?
The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) advertised 5,248 Medical Officer posts in Group-A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre, under the state’s Health & Family Welfare Department. The advertisement described the posts as permanent, in Level 12, Cell 1 under the ORSP Rules, 2017, with usual allowances sanctioned by the state government. The recruitment was announced in Advertisement No. 09 of 2024-25.
The application window opened on 25 March 2025. The notification originally listed 24 April 2025 as the closing date, but a report published by Scroll on 18 April said OPSC extended the deadline to 15 May 2025. The application period has ended; candidates cannot apply through this recruitment now.
How many vacancies were advertised?

What were the eligibility requirements?
The notice specified an M.B.B.S. degree or an equivalent qualification as described in the advertisement, along with an Odisha Medical Registration Certificate. Applicants had to be 21 to 32 years old as of 1 January 2025, subject to applicable age relaxations. How did selection work?
Selection included a written examination. The reported format was 200 questions for 200 marks, with one mark for each question and a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The official notice is the authority for examination rules and syllabus; do not assume this summary covers every instruction.
