Only Watch announced 62 one-off watch lots for its 10th edition on June 29, 2023. The auction was first scheduled for November 5, 2023, then postponed; the organization now records the event as held in Geneva on May 10, 2024. The catalogue below is therefore the 2023-announced collection, not a claim that the sale took place in 2023. The available sources describe individual announced watches, but do not establish the final revised catalogue or each lot’s realized price.
What Only Watch 2023 refers to
Only Watch is a charity auction initiative created to raise money for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Its 10th edition brought together unique watch creations, including work by established manufacturers, independent watchmakers and collaborators. Only Watch’s February 2023 announcement said the first nine editions had raised close to CHF 100 million; its current project page gives a later figure of nearly CHF/EUR 130 million, so these are distinct dated statements rather than directly interchangeable totals. The announced collection was reported as 62 lots. Counts of participating makers differ: Monochrome Watches reported 72 watchmakers and brands on June 29, 2023, while Revolution Watch reported 73, including 16 collaborations. When was the auction held?
- February 1, 2023: Only Watch announced its 10th edition, planned for November 5 at Geneva’s PALEXPO, with a world tour scheduled from September to November. Official press-release archive.

That chronology explains why a page titled “Only Watch 2023” can refer to a collection announced in 2023 even though the auction took place in 2024. Lot estimates published for the announced sale should not be confused with final results or current retail prices.

F.P. Journe Chronomètre Furtif Bleu
Monochrome describes this one-off as a tantalum watch with a rose-gold movement and an enamel dial whose numerals appear in reflected light. Revolution Watch’s lot descriptions offer more examples of the collection’s design range. Its account of Singer Reimagined x Genus describes an 8-Track watch with an 18K-gold micro-sculpture moving around an infinity-shaped track. It describes Ressence’s Type 12 as having a DNA-themed dial and Rexhep Rexhepi’s Chronomètre Antimagnétique as a historically inspired precision watch. These pages document the announced collection. An estimate is not a realized price, and a unique charity-auction lot is not evidence that the same watch is available to buy from a retailer today.
Why the charity auction matters
Only Watch says proceeds support research on DMD. Its project page states that funding has helped establish an international network of public and private laboratories working on therapeutic approaches including gene therapy, cell therapy and repair of mutated nucleic acids, particularly through modulation of mRNA splicing. The same page gives an approximate prevalence of one in 3,500 boys; it does not display a publication date for that figure, so it is best read as the organization’s cited statistic rather than a newly issued estimate.
