Who could apply under the historical rules
The 2024 notice set an age range of 18–24 as of 25 October 2024. That cutoff belongs only to this recruitment cycle and should not be used to assess eligibility for a later ONGC opening.

Applicants could choose only one trade at one work centre. A candidate could apply to a centre only if they met that centre’s stated residence or qualifying-education district condition. Because those district rules varied by centre, eligibility was not simply a matter of meeting a general age or qualification threshold.

How ONGC said selection would work
Selection was based on marks in the qualifying examination. If candidates were tied, the candidate who was older was preferred.
