Status: Expired — historical U.S. Black Friday 2024 deal. The OnePlus 12’s $250 discount was real: the 12GB/256GB model was reported at $549, down from $799, and the 16GB/512GB version at about $649, down from $899. The promotion ran in November 2024; those prices are not a current offer as of August 16, 2026.
What the OnePlus 12 deal actually offered
Coverage published November 21–25, 2024 reported a $250 reduction on the OnePlus 12 through OnePlus, with comparable retailer availability also reported. Digital Trends said the manufacturer promotion was scheduled to end December 2, 2024. The reported $549 price applied to the 12GB/256GB model, not every OnePlus 12 configuration. Tom’s Guide identified the Silky Black version at that price; colors and stock could vary. Tom’s Guide’s dated deal report and Digital Trends’ promotion details document the offer.
| Configuration | Reported original price | Discount | Reported deal price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12GB RAM / 256GB storage | $799 | $250 | $549 |
| 16GB RAM / 512GB storage | $899 | $250 | About $649 |
The 512GB figure was reported by PhoneArena as part of the 2024 promotion; the two prices refer to different configurations, not conflicting reports of one model. Some coverage called the offer an all-time or record low at the time, a description limited to the historical reporting date. PhoneArena’s 512GB deal report gives that context.
Did shoppers need a trade-in or coupon?
The advertised $250 reduction was reported as a direct sale discount, rather than a price that required carrier activation or a trade-in. Best Buy’s comparable offer was also described as not requiring upfront carrier activation or other major checkout conditions. PhoneArena’s Best Buy coverage described that separate retailer promotion, which has since ended.

OnePlus also promoted separate incentives, which should not be added to the $250 sale price without checking eligibility and checkout terms. Its launch materials included trade-in offers, while its Black Friday subscription page advertised coupons up to $500 and an average stated incentive value of $250 for email or text participation. That required marketing consent and personal-data submission; it was not the same as a guaranteed reduction for every buyer. OnePlus’s 2024 subscription offer explains that incentive.
- Compare the listed sale price separately from any trade-in credit, which can depend on the old phone’s model, condition, inspection, and eligibility.
- Do not assume subscriber coupons, app deals, retailer promotions, or eligible-member discounts stack. OnePlus says its exclusive discount pricing cannot be combined with coupon codes; its discount-program terms are the relevant reference.
- Check the final cart for the selected storage tier, color, stock, shipping, tax, and any activation or financing requirement attached to a different offer.
Why the price was compelling
At $549, the base configuration put a 2024 flagship-class phone well below its reported $799 original price. OnePlus lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 5,400mAh battery, 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and a 120Hz ProXDR display. The U.S. camera system includes 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 64MP periscope telephoto cameras. These specifications help explain the value; they do not by themselves establish real-world camera quality or battery endurance. See OnePlus’s OnePlus 12 launch specifications.
OnePlus advertises up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, a manufacturer specification rather than a guarantee of sustained full-screen brightness. Similarly, fast-charge performance depends on compatible OnePlus charging hardware and the company’s test conditions. The phone’s large battery and wireless charging distinguish it from many cheaper models, but buyers should weigh those features against whether they need the newest generation or a particular camera and software experience.
Buy the OnePlus 12 or wait for the OnePlus 13?
The successor’s imminent arrival was a real consideration during Black Friday 2024: the OnePlus 12’s global release had been in early 2024, and coverage noted that the next model was approaching. Android Central’s dated coverage captured that timing. The available evidence here does not establish current OnePlus 13 prices or specifications, so this is a decision framework rather than a current model-to-model comparison.

- Wait for the next generation if the priority was the latest processor, newer camera processing, resale value, or a longer remaining support window. The sources cited here do not establish a current software-support duration, so verify the applicable policy before buying an older phone.
- Compare Pixel and Galaxy alternatives if camera consistency, software features, update policy, ecosystem integration, or broad carrier availability mattered more than charging speed and specification value.
OnePlus also described the OnePlus 12 as having “48-Month Fluency” certification and a Battery Health Engine. Treat these as company claims and targets, not a promise that performance will remain unchanged for four years. The official product page lists the product and OnePlus’s feature claims; it does not turn them into independent endurance or longevity test results.

The $549 and approximately $649 prices belong to the November–December 2024 U.S. promotion. OnePlus still lists the OnePlus 12 in its product catalog, but that does not establish that either historical deal price is available today. Check the live listing and checkout total at the OnePlus 12 product page or OnePlus phone store; treat any current offer as a new promotion with its own terms.
OnePlus’s U.S. terms say prices can change without notice and the order is charged at the price in effect when placed. If OnePlus reduces a product’s price within 14 calendar days after delivery, a customer may contact support to request a difference refund or credit, but approval is discretionary—not a guaranteed price match. The terms also describe a 15-day return/replacement provision and a 12-month limited warranty, subject to conditions and exclusions. Read OnePlus’s U.S. terms of sale for the applicable details before ordering.
