Selection process and reported application fee
Scroll.in’s 29 January 2024 report described the selection process as a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Personal Interview (PI). Oil India’s official advertisement directed applicants to consult the full notice for eligibility and selection modalities.
Scroll reported a fee of ₹500 plus applicable taxes for General and OBC (NCL) candidates, with no fee for SC, ST, PwBD, EWS and Ex-Servicemen candidates. These are reported details of the 2024 recruitment, not a current fee schedule.

The official notice required candidates to apply online and stated that no paper application would be entertained. Depending on the applicant and post, the online application could require a photograph, signature, relevant certificates, and education or experience records. The notice also stated that candidates applying for multiple posts had to submit separate applications.
Post-specific qualifications, age limits and other eligibility conditions should be checked in the original advertisement rather than inferred from a summary of the vacancies. The stated cutoff for age, experience and qualifications was 29 January 2024.
Do not confuse this notice with a later Production recruitment
This 102-vacancy notice is distinct from Oil India’s later Superintending Engineer (Production), Grade C recruitment. An Oil India result notice dated 17 May 2025 identifies that separate recruitment as advertisement EX RECT/2024/03, dated 15 February 2024. It is not the same advertisement as HRAQ/REC-EX-B/2024-02.
Use official channels for recruitment updates
Oil India’s advertisement warns: “OIL does not authorise any individual /agency /organisation outside of OIL to offer any job on its behalf.” It also says future announcements for this recruitment would be published on OIL’s website, not another website or medium.
