Nyne is a people-data startup, not an AI system that understands people in a human sense. It aims to help software agents identify the right person across fragmented records and retrieve structured details about that person—such as work history, household information, interests, and recent life events. Whether that context makes agents more useful depends on a harder question: how accurate, current, and appropriate is the data?
What Nyne is—and what “human context” means
Nyne describes itself as a real-time people-data API. Its product is intended to give AI agents a more complete, machine-readable person record than a name, email address, or isolated customer relationship management (CRM) entry can provide. In practice, “human context” means linking records that may refer to the same person, adding attributes and signals, and indicating where information came from and how confident the match is.
That is a data-infrastructure proposition, not evidence that an agent understands someone’s intentions, emotions, or circumstances. The value depends on whether the identity match is right, the facts are useful and current, and the customer is permitted to use them for the intended purpose.
Who founded Nyne and who invested
Michael Fanous is Nyne’s CEO, and his father, Emad Fanous, is its CTO. TechCrunch described Michael as a UC Berkeley computer-science graduate and former machine-learning engineer at CareRev. South Park Commons says Emad previously bootstrapped Connectivity to eight-figure annual recurring revenue and built a large U.S. consumer dataset; those are investor-provided background claims, not independently verified operating metrics. TechCrunch’s report and South Park Commons’ announcement describe the founders and company.

Nyne announced a $5.3 million seed round on March 13, 2026. TechCrunch identified Wischoff Ventures and South Park Commons as the lead investors; South Park Commons also listed Karman Ventures and angel investors Gil Elbaz and Soleio. The funding supports an early-stage company’s effort to build a data layer for agentic software; it does not establish product performance or customer adoption.
How the product is meant to work
Resolve identity
A customer might submit a partial CRM record, an email address or hashed email, a phone number, a postal address, a name and city, or social and professional identifiers. Nyne says it tries to determine whether records refer to one person, reconcile fragments, and return a confidence score for the match. Identity resolution is consequential: combining two people’s records incorrectly can make every later attribute appear more certain than it is.
Enrich the person record
Nyne says a resolved profile may include professional history, contact details, residence, household composition, demographic and financial signals, property information, interests, affiliations, public filings, and life-event signals such as a move, home purchase, or job change. The company says fields include source information, confidence scoring, and a freshness timestamp. Those features describe the company’s stated design; they are not a guarantee that every field is correct or available for every person.
Deliver data to software
Nyne lists REST APIs, JSON responses, webhooks, and a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI assistants. Its site describes person search and enrichment, company enrichment, and audience-building workflows. The MCP documentation lists Nyne’s MCP server and supported workflows, including people search, person enrichment, person newsfeeds and Q&A, and company search and enrichment. It says the server uses existing Nyne credentials and credit balance, with tool usage charged at the same credit costs as the REST API.

A conceptual flow, based on Nyne’s stated capabilities rather than a hands-on test, looks like this:
- A business submits a partial record or identifier.
- Nyne attempts to resolve it to a person and returns structured attributes with match confidence, sources, and freshness information.
- An agent uses selected fields in a workflow—for example, to prepare account research or route a customer-service request.
- If an event signal is available and the relevant feature is enabled, a later change may be delivered through an event workflow such as a webhook.
Availability needs checking at the account and documentation level. Nyne’s marketing site presents APIs, webhooks, and MCP as product capabilities, while its documentation page has described real-time webhooks and some enhanced capabilities as “Coming Soon.” That mismatch makes the live docs and account terms more reliable than assuming every advertised feature is enabled for every user.
How Nyne differs from conventional enrichment
The distinction Nyne emphasizes is the intended consumer of the data: a person using a CRM or sales dashboard versus an agent calling an API. This is a positioning comparison, not a verified performance comparison.
| Dimension | Conventional enrichment, broadly | Nyne’s stated positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Primary user | Sales, marketing, or operations staff | Software agents and agentic workflows |
| Output | Dashboard or contact record for a human to interpret | Structured JSON and tool-accessible data |
| Identity focus | Often company and business-contact records | Consumer and professional identity resolution |
| Updates | May rely on periodic refreshes | Live or event-driven signals are part of the stated pitch |
| Evidence attached to fields | Varies by provider | Nyne says it supplies confidence, source, and freshness metadata |
| Integration emphasis | CRM and sales tools | APIs, webhooks, MCP, and connections to CRMs, CDPs, and agents |
Nyne argues that an external agent cannot necessarily see the cross-platform information available to a large closed platform. It may encounter a professional profile, public record, or online activity as separate fragments without knowing they belong to the same person. Nyne’s bet is that resolving and packaging those fragments can make an agent’s next action better informed. That is different from an advertising platform targeting users inside its own ecosystem, but it remains a form of personal-data aggregation and use.

What Nyne claims about scale, speed, and availability
Nyne’s official site claims a graph of more than two billion people, over 2,400 attributes, and a median enrichment time of 184 milliseconds. These are company-reported figures; the reviewed public sources do not provide independent validation, test conditions for the latency figure, or coverage and error rates. The site also advertises live signals, APIs, webhooks, MCP, confidence scores, source and freshness metadata, CCPA readiness, SOC 2, and point-in-time auditability. Those statements should be read as Nyne’s claims rather than as proof of universal legal compliance, independent certification scope, or measured data quality.
Nyne says pricing is usage-based: API calls consume credits, new accounts receive free sandbox credits, and per-call costs appear in documentation or the customer account. The reviewed materials did not disclose a public dollar price, so a buyer would need to confirm credit costs, minimum commitments, rate limits, and contractual data-use terms directly.
Where the product might be useful
Nyne’s stated applications include CRM deduplication and enrichment, lead generation, audience segmentation, identity verification, fraud checks, personalization, and giving agents more account context. Other plausible applications include professional discovery and triggering research or outreach after a job change or move. These are potential workflows, not demonstrated customer outcomes.
- Agent builders: Evaluate whether a resolved person record gives an agent evidence it could not get reliably from first-party data alone.
- CRM and customer-data teams: Test whether identity resolution reduces duplicate records without creating harmful false merges.
- Sales and marketing teams: Determine whether the fields and signals are lawful, relevant, and appropriate for the specific outreach—not merely available through an API.
- Fraud or identity teams: Validate error rates and legal suitability for the exact screening use. A data match alone should not be treated as a verified identity.
It may be a poor fit for a small team that only needs basic business contact details, or for an organization without the privacy, legal, and engineering capacity to govern consumer-data use. Any use affecting employment, housing, credit, insurance, health, or other regulated decisions warrants specialized legal and compliance review rather than an assumption that an API response can be used for that purpose.

Privacy, accuracy, and the risks of giving agents more context
Nyne’s privacy policy says information may come from public records and government sources, publicly available websites, commercial data providers, business partners, customers, and service providers. It describes processing professional, employment, education, internet-activity, geolocation, inferred, and potentially sensitive personal information, depending on source and context. So “public data” is not a complete description of the company’s stated inputs.
The policy also describes data products and licensing for business customers, and says some disclosures may legally qualify as a sale or sharing of personal information under California law. California residents can request opt-out rights through the company’s privacy-choices process or by email. The policy places responsibility on customers to have the rights, permissions, notices, and legal basis needed to submit information and use the services. A field being returned by Nyne does not, on its own, establish that a customer may use it for any purpose.
- False identity merges: People can share names, locations, employers, or contact details. An agent should not make an irreversible decision or disclose personal information based solely on an unverified match.
- Stale or misleading facts: A public record or inferred event can be outdated, incomplete, or attached to the wrong person. A confidence score is not a substitute for checking whether the evidence supports the action.
- Sensitive inference: Aggregated details can reveal or imply more than any single source. More data can create worse decisions if an agent treats correlation as permission or relevance.
- Purpose and legal limits: Customers need to establish what use is permitted under applicable privacy and sector-specific rules, including for regulated decisions and targeted outreach.
- Opt-out and correction: Buyers should ask how people can access, correct, suppress, or delete records and derived data, and how quickly those requests propagate to customers and exports.
- Agent permissions: MCP and autonomous workflows make data easier to query, which can also widen the consequences of overbroad tool permissions, accidental disclosure, prompt injection, or unauthorized downstream actions.
What a buyer should verify before relying on it
The key diligence question is not simply how many attributes the graph contains. It is whether the data is dependable enough for a particular workflow and governed tightly enough for the consequences of using it.
- Identity quality: Request precision and recall, false-merge and false-split rates, and performance for the target geography and audience.
- Field provenance: Ask how Nyne handles conflicting sources, distinguishes observed facts from inferences, and communicates freshness at the field level.
- Agent behavior: Check whether low-confidence data can be excluded automatically and whether the agent can be restricted from taking sensitive or irreversible actions.
- Operational readiness: Confirm API schemas, authentication, rate limits, retries, webhook behavior, logging, auditability, and which features are actually enabled for the account.
- Governance and contract terms: Review data-processing terms, opt-out and deletion workflows, purpose restrictions, retention, export rights, and controls for sensitive data.
- Economics: Calculate credit consumption for the intended workflow and confirm minimum commitments, support, service levels, and usage restrictions.
- Evidence of outcomes: Ask for customer references or production case studies that measure whether Nyne improves results compared with a CRM or another data provider.
What remains unproven
The reviewed public materials do not establish an independent audit of the two-billion-person graph or the 184-millisecond median enrichment claim; published match-error rates; coverage differences by country or demographic group; a detailed method for resolving conflicting sources; or evidence that agents using Nyne make better production decisions. They also do not provide detailed public customer references or a public dollar-denominated price card. Those gaps matter because the product’s value rests less on the existence of many records than on accurate identity resolution, useful provenance, appropriate use, and measurable downstream improvement.
How Nyne fits among other options
Nyne is one option to investigate, not a proven winner over established tools. The right comparison depends on whether the need is a people-data API, outbound sales workflow, enrichment orchestration, CRM-native automation, enterprise data governance, or a controlled first-party graph.
| Option | Potential fit | Question to compare |
|---|---|---|
| People Data Labs | Developers seeking people and company data APIs | Compare coverage, licensing, provenance, and interfaces for agent workflows. |
| Apollo | Sales teams focused on prospecting and outbound execution | Is a sales platform a better fit than a general-purpose identity layer? |
| Clay | Growth teams coordinating multiple enrichment providers | Does orchestration across providers offer more flexibility than one graph? |
| HubSpot | Companies already operating their customer workflows in a CRM | Is the core need CRM-native account management rather than broad identity resolution? |
| Salesforce Data Cloud | Large organizations seeking enterprise data unification and governance | Does the governance and integration scope justify a potentially heavier implementation? |
| Custom first-party graph | Organizations with consented proprietary data and a need for control | Can the organization support the engineering, data partnerships, and maintenance required? |
These are comparison candidates, not independently tested recommendations. Current pricing and plan details for the named alternatives are not established here.
