NVIDIA reported record Data Center revenue of $10.32 billion for its fiscal second quarter of 2024, up 171% year over year and 141% sequentially. The quarter ended July 30, 2023; the 171% figure describes that historical period, not NVIDIA’s latest results.
What was NVIDIA’s Q2 FY2024 revenue?
For the quarter ended July 30, 2023, NVIDIA reported total revenue of $13.51 billion, up 101% from a year earlier. Data Center contributed $10.32 billion of that total, making it the company’s largest reported business segment in the quarter. The figures are historical results for fiscal Q2 2024, rather than a current-quarter update. NVIDIA’s August 23, 2023 earnings release gives the reported results.
What caused the 171% increase in Data Center sales?
NVIDIA attributed the growth to demand for accelerated computing and generative AI. Its earnings release said the segment’s year-over-year increase in fiscal Q2 2024 was led by cloud service providers and large consumer-internet companies. CFO commentary likewise identified cloud service providers as the leading source of Data Center growth. These are the customer groups NVIDIA named; the company’s reported figure does not establish how much revenue came from any one customer or application. NVIDIA’s CFO commentary provides additional context.
Which products did NVIDIA identify?
The Q2 FY2024 release highlighted two data-center products, but it did not quantify how much either contributed to quarterly revenue.

- GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip: NVIDIA said it was shipping for complex AI and high-performance-computing workloads.
- L40S GPU: NVIDIA described it as a universal data-center processor for compute-intensive applications and said it was available.
The release names these products as part of NVIDIA’s infrastructure announcements for the period; it does not say they alone drove the segment’s reported growth.

NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 release, dated August 26, 2026, reported $96.2 billion in total revenue, up 106% year over year, and $89.0 billion in Data Center revenue, up 117% year over year. That later quarter had a much larger revenue base but a different year-over-year growth rate. Comparing the two periods requires keeping their fiscal years distinct: the 171% Data Center increase belongs to Q2 FY2024, while the 117% increase belongs to Q2 FY2027. NVIDIA’s Q2 FY2027 release reports the later figures.
