A StockAnalysis snapshot citing S&P Global Market Intelligence put the average target at $328.72 from 61 analysts on October 6, 2026. NVIDIA’s latest reported results showed strong revenue and Data Center growth, but neither analyst targets nor company guidance guarantees what the stock will do.
What did the $133 NVDA price target mean?
In its December 9, 2025 article, the Trefis Team framed $133 as a valuation that “might be within reach” in a generally negative view of NVIDIA. It was one publisher’s valuation scenario, not a consensus target, a company forecast, or a promise that the shares would reach that price. The available source details do not state the scenario’s forecast horizon, so it should not be treated as a dated prediction for a particular future period.
The distinction matters because the headline is historical. A reader looking for a current NVDA stock forecast should not use the $133 figure as if it represented what analysts collectively expected in October 2026.
How does the $133 scenario compare with the later analyst snapshot?
StockAnalysis reported an average NVDA price target of $328.72 based on 61 analysts in a snapshot last updated October 6, 2026. The page attributes estimates to S&P Global Market Intelligence and TipRanks. It is a third-party aggregation, not NVIDIA guidance, and it can change as estimates are updated.

| Figure | Source and date | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| $133 | Trefis Team / Forbes’ Great Speculations, December 9, 2025 | A possible valuation within a generally negative analysis; not consensus. Forecast horizon not stated in the available source details. |
| $328.72 average target, based on 61 analysts | StockAnalysis snapshot, last updated October 6, 2026; estimates attributed to S&P Global Market Intelligence and TipRanks | An aggregator’s average of analyst targets at that snapshot date; not a guarantee or a company forecast. |
These numbers are not a like-for-like comparison: they come from different dates and represent different methods—a single publisher’s valuation scenario versus an average of analysts’ targets. The newer snapshot does not prove that NVIDIA shares will reach its average target. Targets can move as analysts change assumptions, and the share price can move independently of those estimates.
What do NVIDIA’s latest results and guidance say?
NVIDIA announced its fiscal second-quarter 2027 results on August 26, 2026, for the quarter ended July 26. The company reported $96.2 billion in revenue, including $89.0 billion from Data Center. For fiscal Q3 2027, management forecast revenue of $108.0 billion, plus or minus 2%.

The Q3 outlook assumed no Data Center compute revenue from China. That is a specific assumption in NVIDIA’s guidance; it should not be expanded into a claim about a particular regulatory outcome or treated as a statement that all sales to China are zero. Guidance is management’s outlook, not a guaranteed result.
CEO Jensen Huang said in the August 26 results release: “AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue.” This is management’s view of AI demand and monetization, not independent confirmation that future demand or revenue will meet expectations.

Why can analyst targets differ from company guidance?
- An individual valuation scenario applies one analyst or publisher’s assumptions to a company’s prospects. The $133 figure belongs in this category.
- An average analyst target aggregates estimates from a group of analysts. The $328.72 figure was a time-sensitive snapshot based on 61 analysts, not an official NVIDIA estimate.
- Company guidance is management’s outlook for specified business results over a stated period. NVIDIA’s $108.0 billion figure was its fiscal Q3 2027 revenue outlook, with a plus-or-minus-2% range and the stated China compute assumption.
Each answers a different question. A revenue outlook is not a share-price target, and an average target does not establish what assumptions every analyst used. To assess a forecast, check who produced it, when it was updated, what period it covers, and whether it is a single model or an average.
What could change the NVDA outlook?
The December 2025 Trefis analysis identified risks that can affect NVIDIA’s sales, earnings expectations, valuation, or market sentiment. These are considerations to weigh against the growth case, not predictions that any one event will occur.

- Data Center demand and customer spending: NVIDIA’s business depends heavily on demand for data-center computing. A slowdown in hyperscaler spending or weaker demand could challenge assumptions about continued rapid growth.
- Competition: AMD, Intel, and customers’ own custom chips could compete with NVIDIA products or affect its pricing and market position.
- Export restrictions and China exposure: Restrictions can affect potential sales. NVIDIA’s fiscal Q3 2027 outlook explicitly assumed no Data Center compute revenue from China.
- Valuation and expectations: Rapid earnings growth can coexist with valuation risk. If results or expectations disappoint, a highly valued stock may be vulnerable to a sharp repricing.
- Supply, earnings, or sentiment shocks: Disruptions in supply or a change in investor expectations can affect both results and the share price.
How should investors interpret an NVDA stock forecast?
Start by separating the type of estimate from the business evidence behind it. The $133 figure was a dated, single-source valuation scenario; the $328.72 figure was a later third-party average; and NVIDIA’s Q3 outlook was management guidance for revenue. None establishes a future share price. The latest reported revenue and Data Center figures show the scale of the business in fiscal Q2 2027, while the risks above illustrate why operating momentum alone cannot settle a stock’s valuation.
For a meaningful comparison, use targets with their publication dates and stated methods, then examine the assumptions and risks rather than treating the largest or most recent number as a prediction. The October 6, 2026 average is a snapshot—not a durable consensus or an assured outcome.
