Cerberus Ventures led the round, with existing investors Ballistic Ventures, Forgepoint Capital and Squadra Ventures participating. The company said it would use the funding to accelerate product innovation and expand go-to-market operations. This is a historical financing announcement, not a new 2026 round.
Who invested, and what are the disclosed terms?
Cerberus Ventures led the Series A. Nudge Security said Ballistic Ventures, Forgepoint Capital and Squadra Ventures—all existing investors—also took part. Cerberus director Morgan Mahlock joined the company’s board, according to the November 18, 2025 announcement.
SecurityWeek reported that the round brought Nudge Security’s total funding to close to $30 million. It also reported a $7 million seed round in April 2022. The company did not disclose a valuation, ownership dilution, liquidation preference or other financial terms in the cited announcement. “Close to $30 million” is the reported cumulative figure, not an exact total. What Nudge Security sells
Nudge Security is a SaaS and AI security-governance company. Its “Workforce Edge” framing refers to the point at which employees independently adopt and connect cloud services and AI tools. The platform is intended to help organizations see and govern that activity, rather than treating every application as centrally selected by IT.

Capabilities described on the company’s current website and product and pricing page include discovery of SaaS and AI applications; visibility into users, integrations, OAuth grants, API tokens and service accounts; monitoring of application configurations and identity risks; and governance of AI applications and AI features inside conventional SaaS products. The company also describes access-review and offboarding workflows, third-party and SaaS supply-chain risk intelligence, and insights for software-spend review.
Its “nudges” are policy-based prompts delivered through browser interactions, email, Slack or Microsoft Teams. That approach is meant to guide employees toward safer choices without relying solely on blocking tools. These are capabilities the vendor describes, not independent evidence that every risk is detected or remediated automatically. The company’s pricing page marks some posture-management capabilities with a dollar-sign indicator; buyers should confirm which functions are included in a proposed plan.
Why SaaS and AI governance are converging
Security teams face a moving mix of approved business software, employee-selected services, AI tools and integrations. AI may arrive as a standalone website or browser extension, but it can also be embedded in a familiar workplace application. In either case, the security question is not simply whether an app is “AI”: it is what data and permissions it can reach, which identity is using it, and how that access is controlled.
Nudge’s market thesis, as presented in its funding announcement, is that SaaS and AI risks increasingly overlap. Relevant problems include unsanctioned software, broad OAuth permissions, unmanaged service accounts, data access by AI tools, abandoned accounts after staff departures and duplicate subscriptions. Discovery can help surface these issues, but an inventory alone does not establish that access is safe or that remediation has occurred.

What the company says about its traction
Nudge Security said it had nearly 200 customers, achieved threefold ARR growth in the 12 months before the November 2025 announcement, and had recorded threefold ARR growth for two consecutive years. It also said it released more than 60 product features in the preceding 12 months. These are company-reported figures; the announcement did not provide audited revenue, ARR dollars, customer retention, gross margin, net revenue retention or customer concentration.
The company said its customers included organizations in software, financial services, healthcare, biotechnology and entertainment, among other cloud-native sectors. Its announcement included a testimonial from Reddit CISO Fredrick Lee, who said Reddit gained visibility into its SaaS footprint within hours of deployment. That is a customer testimonial, not an independently measured or quantified case study. Nudge Security was founded in 2021 by Russell Spitler and Jaime Blasco and initially launched in October 2022, according to the same announcement.

What the financing may enable—and what it does not prove
Nudge Security said the proceeds would support product innovation and go-to-market expansion. Strategically, the funding gives the company more capital to develop its platform and pursue customers in a category that overlaps SaaS security posture management, SaaS management, identity governance, shadow-IT discovery, AI governance and third-party risk. Cerberus’s role as lead alongside three existing investors also combines a new lead investor with continued participation from prior backers.
The announcement does not specify a hiring plan, expansion geography or product roadmap, so those should not be inferred from the stated use of proceeds. Nor does a funding round establish product superiority, durable growth or the size of Nudge Security’s addressable market.

What buyers should weigh
The platform may merit evaluation at organizations with substantial employee-led SaaS and AI use, especially where security teams need to connect application discovery with identity and access workflows. Its breadth can also mean more coordination among security, IT, identity, procurement, legal and privacy teams. Discovery is distinct from remediation: ask which actions the product can perform automatically, which require administrator approval, and which depend on an employee responding to a prompt.
Nudge’s pricing FAQ says active-user counts are determined through Google Workspace or Microsoft Graph data, and describes monitoring workspace users rather than arbitrary subsets. Organizations unable to grant those integrations—or requiring tightly limited monitoring—should clarify whether the model fits their policies. Buyers should also establish what data is collected, whether AI prompt content is inspected or only application and access metadata, how multiple identity tenants are handled, and what retention, deletion, hosting-region and subprocessor terms apply. The pricing page is the relevant place to confirm current plan scope and integration details.
Employee-facing prompts can make security guidance more actionable, but policies that generate too many notifications may create friction. A pilot should measure not only how many apps and identities are discovered, but also false positives, completed remediation and employee response. Teams should confirm support for the AI agents, browser extensions and integrations they actually use, since the product’s current coverage may not match every environment.
Public pricing and trial context
On August 18, 2026, Nudge Security’s public pricing page listed Essential at $750 per month billed annually for up to 150 users, Growth at $5 per user per month billed annually for 150–1,500 users, and custom pricing for Enterprise. These are page-listed prices observed on that date, not terms from the 2025 financing announcement; confirm current pricing and included features directly with the company. The funding announcement described a fully functional 14-day trial without a credit card or sales conversation, while the current pricing page links to a free-trial flow.
