Nucleus Security announced a $20 million Series C on February 12, 2026, led by Delta-v Capital. The Sarasota-based cybersecurity company plans to use the funding to scale operations and expand the intelligence and automation behind its exposure-management platform.

What Nucleus Security does

Founded in 2018 by former U.S. Department of Defense security experts, Nucleus Security builds software to help organizations identify and reduce cyber risk. Its platform brings vulnerability and asset data together with threat intelligence and business context, then helps security teams determine which issues deserve attention and route work toward remediation.

SecurityWeek and SC Media describe a platform with more than 200 connectors for security and asset data. It normalizes findings from different tools, correlates vulnerabilities with real-world threat data, and maps assets to the teams responsible for them. The stated coverage spans enterprise IT, application security, cloud security, and operational technology (OT).

How exposure management prioritizes vulnerabilities

A vulnerability list alone does not show which issue is most urgent for a particular organization. Exposure-management software aims to add context—such as which asset is affected, its business importance, and whether threat information makes the vulnerability especially relevant—so teams can focus remediation effort rather than treating every finding alike.

From findings to assigned work

  1. Collect: Connectors bring vulnerability, asset, and other security data into the platform.
  2. Normalize and correlate: Findings are brought into a common view and correlated with threat data and organizational context.
  3. Assign and remediate: The platform maps assets to responsible teams and uses workflows and ticketing automation to move remediation forward.

This describes Nucleus’s intended workflow, not an independently measured reduction in risk or remediation time. The cited funding coverage does not report comparative efficacy tests or product benchmarks.

Funding and use of proceeds

Delta-v Capital led the $20 million Series C announced February 12, 2026. SecurityWeek reports that Nucleus had raised more than $86 million across four investment rounds. SC Media gives the post-round total as approximately $86.1 million. Those totals are differently stated estimates in the two reports.

Nucleus says it will use the capital to scale operations, deepen intelligence and automation for cloud and AI-driven environments, and strengthen long-term platform resilience. SC Media also reports plans to expand platform capabilities and scale customer deployments.

What the announcement establishes—and what it doesn’t

The funding announcement signals investment in the company’s product and operations, but it is not evidence by itself of customer outcomes or product performance. SecurityWeek and SC Media do not provide like-for-like competitor pricing, customer counts, independent efficacy testing, or benchmarks. Organizations assessing exposure-management tools would need to evaluate connector fit, supported environments, risk context, threat-data correlation, remediation workflows, and deployment requirements against their own needs.
