It is not the company’s latest financing announcement: on 25 September 2026, Nscale announced a separate $3.36 billion convertible financing round.
What was Nscale’s $1.1 billion raise?
The $1.1 billion was a Series B funding announcement, not a report of consumer borrowing or a retail investment offer. Nscale described it as the largest Series B in UK and European history; that is the company’s characterization, not an independently verified ranking. Nscale’s 25 September 2025 announcement
The company said it would direct the capital toward AI infrastructure deployment in Europe, North America and the Middle East, as well as expansion of its AI cloud platform. Those are stated plans, not proof that new facilities were already built or operating.
What did Nscale say it would use the money for?
AI data centers and GPU infrastructure
Nscale said the funding would support AI factory data centers and broader infrastructure deployment. These facilities are designed to supply the computing capacity needed for AI workloads, including GPU clusters. The announcement describes intended expansion, not completed construction or installed capacity.

Expansion of its AI cloud platform
The company also named growth of its vertically integrated AI cloud platform as a use of proceeds. In practical terms, the funding was aimed at infrastructure and cloud services for AI computing rather than a product for individual consumers.
How the UK GPU plan fits the funding story
In a separate infrastructure announcement on 16 September 2025, Nscale named Microsoft, NVIDIA and OpenAI among its technology partners and described plans to deploy up to 58,640 NVIDIA GPUs across the UK. “Up to” is a planned ceiling; it does not establish that all those GPUs were installed or operational. Is the $1.1 billion Nscale’s latest funding round?
No. On 25 September 2026, Nscale announced a separate $3.36 billion convertible financing round. It is a different transaction and financing type from the Series B announced the year before. Nscale’s 25 September 2026 financing announcement
| Announcement | Financing type | Amount | Stated purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 September 2025 | Series B | $1.1 billion | AI infrastructure deployment and expansion of Nscale’s AI cloud platform |
| 25 September 2026 | Convertible financing | $3.36 billion | Not specified in the announcement excerpt cited here |
The amounts should not be read as a single $4.46 billion raise: they refer to distinct financing announcements made a year apart. Nscale’s 2026 announcement said, “With the backing of these world-class investors, we are strongly positioned to accelerate our data center buildouts globally.”

What the announcements do—and do not—establish
The announcements document what Nscale said it raised or arranged and how it planned to expand. On their own, they do not independently verify financing completion, data-center construction progress, operating capacity or commercial performance. The story concerns enterprise AI infrastructure and cloud services, not a consumer product recommendation or an investment offer for individual readers.
