North Beach Post Office at North Beach Shopping Centre in Perth was reported to be closing after its licensees accepted an offer under Australia Post’s voluntary licence handback program. What happened to the North Beach PO Boxes?
PerthNow reported on 14 November 2024 that North Beach PO Box customers had received notice of the planned closure. According to that notice, existing PO Boxes would not receive mail after 13 January 2025. That date is historical; the sources available do not establish the current status of any individual box or redirect.
The report said affected customers would receive a refund for the unused part of their annual PO Box rental and be offered a six-month redirect to another post office. It did not confirm whether every customer received those arrangements or how individual cases were resolved. Customers with questions about a specific refund or redirected mail should contact Australia Post directly.
Which alternative post offices were named?
PerthNow named Marmion and Karrinyup post offices as alternatives. Its description of them as up to a 10-minute drive away reflected the report at the time, not a current route estimate. Current opening hours, services and travel times are not established by that report.
