What the 2024 notification offered
NMDC Limited’s Employment Notification No. 08/2024, dated 21 October 2024, advertised 153 tentative Junior Officer (Trainee) vacancies across ten disciplines. NMDC said the number could vary with organizational requirements. Seven posts were reserved horizontally for persons with benchmark disabilities across the listed disciplines.

Eligibility depended on the discipline
There was no single qualification that applied to every post. The following is a concise guide to the notification’s principal routes; it does not replace checking the full notice for exact credentials and conditions. NMDC stated that prescribed minimum qualifications were mandatory and that a higher qualification did not automatically establish eligibility. The application deadline, 10 November 2024, was also the eligibility cut-off date.

Age limit, training and pay
Age limit and relaxations
The maximum age was 32 years under the 2024 notification. It provided for relaxation of up to five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, with applicable government-guideline relaxations for persons with benchmark disabilities and ex-servicemen. NMDC departmental candidates could receive up to 15 years’ relaxation, subject to the notice’s conditions.
Training stipend versus regular scale

Application window and fee
The 2024 application portal was scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on 21 October and close at 11:59 p.m. on 10 November. NMDC directed candidates to apply online through the Careers link on its website, complete the form and upload relevant documents. The application fee was Rs. 250 and non-refundable; the notice listed exemptions for SC/ST/PwD/ex-servicemen and NMDC departmental candidates, subject to supporting proof. The application window is over.
How selection worked
The selection process had two stages: an online computer-based test (CBT) worth 100 marks, followed by a Supervisory Skill Test that was qualifying only. The CBT consisted of objective multiple-choice questions and was offered in Hindi and English.
