The NMAT by GMAC 2025 registration deadline was October 10, 2025. That deadline has passed, so the old “closes today” notice is no longer a valid call to apply. For the current cycle, GMAC’s official dates page lists a separate 2026 registration window ending October 10, 2026.
Where to apply for the current NMAT cycle
For the 2026 cycle, use the official NMAT by GMAC page to check registration information and proceed to the application route. GMAC’s dates page lists registration from August 20 through October 10, 2026, scheduling through October 22, and testing from November 2 through December 20, 2026. These are 2026 dates, not extensions of the 2025 window; check the official page for any updates before acting.
What happened to the 2025 deadline?
The original “registration window closes today” report was published on October 10, 2025, and referred to that date only. GMAC announced that 2025 registration opened August 1, with testing scheduled from November 5 through December 19, 2025. The 2025 registration period and exam window are over.
NMAT registration is not a business-school application
Signing up for the exam does not submit an application to an MBA program. Candidates must apply separately to each school and verify its program-specific NMAT acceptance, application deadline, eligibility rules, and score policy directly with the school. A general exam listing does not establish that every program accepts NMAT scores.

What the 2025 exam involved
For context, GMAC described the 2025 NMAT as a computer-based test with three equally weighted sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. It had 108 questions and a 120-minute duration. Candidates could choose the section order; there was no negative marking, and candidates had two retake opportunities. These are details for the 2025 cycle, not a guarantee of the 2026 format.
GMAC’s 2025 announcement also listed 86 test centres across 79 Indian cities. That figure is specific to the 2025 cycle and does not establish current centre availability.
